The TT-30, commonly known simply as the Tokarev, is an out-of-production Soviet semi-automatic pistol. (A semi-automatic pistol is a type of repeating single-chamber handgun (pistol) that automatically cycles its action to insert the subsequent cartridge into the chamber (self-loading), but requires manual actuation of the trigger to actually discharge the following shot. As a result, only one round of ammunition) was developed in 1930 by Fedor Tokarev ( Fedor Vasilievich Tokarev was a Russian weapons designer and deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR from 1937 to 1950.)
as a service pistol ( A service pistol, also known as a personal weapon or an ordnance weapon, is any handgun issued to regular military personnel or law enforcement officers. Typically, service pistols are revolvers or semi-automatic pistols issued to officers, non-commissioned officers, and rear-echelon support personnel for self- ) for the Soviet military
( The Armed Forces of the Russian Socialist Federative Soviet Republic, and then the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, also known as the Red Army and Armed Forces of the Soviet Union, were the armed forces of the Russian SFSR (1917-1922), the Soviet ) to replace the Nagant M1895 revolver ( The Nagant M1895 Revolver is a seven-shot, gas-seal revolver designed and produced by Belgian industrialist Léon Nagant for the Russian Empire. ) that had been in use since the Russian Empire, ( The Russian Empire, also known as Imperial Russia, was an empire that extended across Eurasia from 1721, succeeding the Tsardom of Russia following the Treaty of Nystad that ended the Great Northern War. The rise of the Russian Empire coincided with the decline of neighboring rival powers: the Swedish Emp ) though it ended up being used in conjunction with, rather than replacing, the M1895. It served until 1952 when it was replaced by the Makarov pistol. ( The Makarov pistol or PM is a Soviet semi-automatic pistol. Under the project leadership of Nikolay Fyodorovich Makarov, it became the Soviet Union's standard military and Militsya sidearm in 1951. )

I knew some people used vinegar to remove rust, but I didn't know how good it worked. I would like to share some of the things I learned by customizing and restoring firearms over the years. The 1st thing would be to get bronze gun cleaning brushes in the caliber you need, and a bottle of Hoppy's #9 gun cleaning oil. If you had one you would have been using the flannel patch also dipped in Hoppy's within minits of cleaning that barrel. I did a lot of polishing frames and slides for " off duty carry " pistols for our local police. Your sanding and polishing of the frame and slide would have gone faster and easier if you started with 400 grit paper and use the 1000 just to take out the 400 scratches. Same with the buffing wheel. Get a harder wheel and Tripoli compound ( keep them together and only use them together ) to get out the bigger imperfections in less time and effort. That way the blue compound will make an even better finish in less time. I don't know what part of the world you live in or how much access to gun cleaning tools you have, since the order contains no firearms or ammo, you should be able to order on line. I mostly use Midway USA for what I can't get locally
@majstorivan4805
Жыл бұрын
Don't you think that 400 and 1000 grit are to fine for this type of pistol? Not to mention polishing after that?! Shouldn't this pistol be finished only with fine "straight" sanding process up to 320(maximum 400 grit) and then rust blued?

Also to clean the bore, I use a cleaning brush on a long cleaning rod and stick it in my hand drill. Let the spinning of the drill clean the bore while you move the cleaning rod in and out with solvent. It also works great for revolver cylinders to remove lead buildup.

Все постановка .
Came out great.
My first pistol was a Tokarev. Loved it. Apparently someone else did too, it got stolen. Mine was in standard 9mm, I'd gladly get another. I'm amazed at the restoration job done in this video!

A TT in 9 mm? Very interesting. Never heard about it.

@@aleksandrmakarschin7129 I stumbled across mine by sheer accident in a Florida gun store. I don't think many were made.

Токарев всегда был 7.62. Никогда 9мм. Если это Токарев который был собран в СССР
Excelente trabalho.Perfeito nos minimos detalhes. Parabéns...desde Brazil..😀

great job . brings back memories when I help my uncle back in the early 80s doing work like this and the surface rust would have guns looking so bad but would clean up perfectly 90 % of the time some times there would be pitting from rust but it takes alot for that to happen.
Thank you for a great video!
