My prybrid has been such a find. Like you said, for the price it's been a great add to my pocket. I know I've used the prybar more than enough times - saving from the muscle memory of grabbing for my knife to do some prying.

I drove over mine with a fork truck. I saw it on the ground and felt such relief it wasn't a $100+ knife.
i EDC the armbar and have for a long time. the little cap lifter/hammer thing is the perfect paint tin tool for both opening and closing tins It also serves as a small but SOFT scraper. If you are ever tempted to scrape something with your finger nail but its a little bit too tenacious, this is the perfect tool. so glad to see one comes with a little saw, the addition of a saw makes it a pefect acompanyment to a centerdrive which doesnt have one
I have Armbar Slim Cut, and it was really hard to open the knife. I had to take it apart and adjust the tension on the lock (detent). Also by adjusting the tension, the lock doesn't have to go all the way, it stays at 50%.
After watching this I'm glad I didn't buy the tools you showed, except I got a good deal on the prybrid on Amazon. I love it and it feels so sturdy
I use the Dual force or Center drive and prybrid daily at work. Love them. I was super underwhelmed with the size overall of the armbar.
I modified my prybrid by adding a pocket clip thru the lanyard hole with a Chicago screw that I also modified. Works great.
IMO at full price I wouldn’t buy the dual force. That being said the plier head, center drive, and the extra bit storage is what I was looking for. Definitely a good buy if you can get it at a discount.
I purchased both of the Gerber Slims and prefer the Slim Drive for my EDC. The Slim Cut's Scissors may be okay but for my 76 year old fingers there is not enough of a finger pad for them to be comfortable. I switched to the Roxon M3. Much easier for me to use and much more comfortable. 😉😀😀😀😎👍👍👍
They were so close to nailing it with the armbar. But a non locking screwdriver, is a total dealbreaker. Here in the UK it would have been perfect if the lock was on the driver and the blade was a slipjoint, they would have sold a million of them. I consider myself lucky to have bought a Suspension way back when they first came out. The quality control was on point back then and It's taken an absolute beating since I've had it and it's still going strong. I guess once the accountants get their claws into it the quality drops quickly.
The bottle opener Armbar is the best I've ever held in my hands. Exceptionally comfortable !
Love my Prybrid! Find myself using it more than my knife! That way I don't hurt my knife LOL!
Standard gerber, great ideas but poor execution.

They really are the Chrysler of multitools.
My dual-force is the perfect multi tool for me. I'm excited to see if they do a redesign and maybe improve a couple things....a better cutter would be tops for me and of course a better file....
The prybrid is awesome. It lives in my watch pocket and I use it often during the day. I only bought it due to a steep discount but glad I did.
During the End of Summer sale, and the prices these items were, the Dual Force was a no brainer. Escpecially if you had the 10% coupon from email sign up which made it under $50.
Would love to get one of those dual-force. Great pick ups man!
I got a gerber dual force and I really like it as a $55 dollar tool. However I never would’ve bought it at its normal price especially after owning it for a couple weeks. It’s a decent tool and I’m glad I got it for pretty cheap because I do carry it everyday now.
I ordered my first Viperade EDC pouch based on your review from about a week ago. You’re a good salesman 👍

I can't help it! I like to share things that are good lols.
Good haul. I have and appreciate the same tools.
I also got my Dual Force for $55 during the Summer Sale. On mine the handle without the center-axis screwdriver seems to fold first; I’ve noticed in other videos that the same thing happens to others as well. Like you said, definitely not a big deal when the tool is locked into the open position. The file is a bit lackluster on the black oxide model that I have as well. It’s serviceable, the scraper really is the saving grace on it though. I wasn’t a fan of the belt pouch it came with (it started rubbing the finish off the handles) so I found a kydex sheath made by Clip & Carry that’s been working wonders for me so far. Definitely something I’d recommend.
I love my Prybrid; had it for 2 years or so now, and sharpened part of the bottle opener section for striking a ferro rod. (Did I really need to add that functionality? No....but the possibility was just sitting there. 😂)

Great idea! I'll be introducing my Prybrid to the grinding wheel tonight.
I love the prybrid. The center drive is interesting and I keep one in the truck. I’ve found it makes a decent emergency mechanic’s tool in small little bag I can take when me when I’m not using my vehicle. I also keep a prybrid in there as well. Odd that I use those two since I typically love Leatherman and Victorinox.
SO frustrated, I had several items in my cart for the End of Summer sale for a couple days. Signed in to finally complete the purchase and realized I missed the sale cut-off!!! I had that same Orange Armbar Drive in my cart :/ Oh well.
I bought the Prybrid to see if it would fit into my EDC somehow. It didn't - but it found its niche and has provided great utility for the money. It's basically a companion tool to my folding knife and/or multitool when working on my own construction/renovation projects or other tasks that could get a little rough. It adds very little extra weight and bulk to my pocket carry and saves me from the temptation to use my other pocket tools for prying and dirty cuts. Great value for the money. It would be even better if the show side scale didn't extend so close to the pry tool (it interferes with prying sometimes) and if they added a pocket clip. I guess it wouldn't be a Gerber if it couldn't be improved upon, still very useful as it is.
I really wish I could have loved the Dual-Force. I'm two for two with them failing. Sad to see such a cool concept be so badly executed
I use the driver from the armbar slim specifically (it's off centered compared the regular one) on my wave and it's a match made in heaven. It's way more useful than the saw in my usecases. Try it if you can it's really cool, it's kinda of a center drive but dit the wave

That's an awesome tip! Is it pretty much plug and play, or do you need to drill out the hole and/or adjust the locking angle? The bit driver is one of my main gripes with leatherman, so you just saved me a third try of filing down a hex bit to fit in there!

You just have to file a spot for the liner lock and the "back lock" on the armbar slim and you're good to go it's a 1/2h job if you know what you're doing
@tokyonfrommars

You also have to remove some material on the handle to fit it
That looks like it would be a good tool to use to get twist top caps off of soda bottles.
Can I ask, where did you get the pocket clips for the armbars?? I have been scouring the internet for a "proper" pocket clip for my armbar for ages! One that isn't just a key dangler or 3d printed thing, but a proper clip like yours have. Great video 👍
I've sawed a lot of stuff with a lot of multitools and never had an issue with slip joint saws. I think a lot of folks just try to shove the saw through the wood when really a saw shouldn't take a crazy amount of muscle to use (a big difference between good ones and bad ones). Also a pull saw doesn't need much force when pushing forward, just on the pull.
The blacked out dual force file, may be filled with paint. Try using it to scrape the paint off and it may be more aggressive
Make a custom Armbar take apart one of the dual forces and Armbar drive see if you can swap the driver and hammer/ prytool over to have a locking driver
Thanks for the video! The prybrid I think there is a craft blade version of it. Do you think that would be a generally more useful tool? Example like the craft blade makes a good box opener? I've been looking at both of them for the longest time and I just can't make my mind up on it

Probably
I was really stoked on the dual force when I first got it (the plier is great for automotive work) but stopped carrying it. Both bit holders broke, and the amount of weight versus actual function is off. Damn thing drags my pants down on a belt.
@Maxlvledc - what kind of tool do I need to loosen those screws/pivot pins on the Gerber Armbars?
I put a Nite ize pocket clip on my Prybrid and oh what a nice little tool it instantly became. Here's a challenge for ya. Put one on yours and let us know how many minutes it took for it to find it's place in your edc rotation.
Original multi tools. But they can't compare to Leatherman..Thank you for demonstrating the new multitools.
Seems they listened to the critics with the newest armbars. I have an original armbar and I don’t hate it personally, but I absolutely love my prybrid
my dual force came 4 days after i ordered it im still waiting for my armbar
Just got the dual force for work and a couple of things. It is not worth the retail price of around $100. It's at best it's a $80 tool... more like $70 would be spot on. It doesn't feel bad but isn't heavy duty. The center drive screwdriver is awesome, Extremely functional. I personally like the knife blade but the file is useless except for prying and I have some concerns for using it for that. Would have liked scissors and a awl but also like the simplicity so I'm on the fence about that.
If they could redesign the Armbar and make screwdriver lock in two positions. and if you are doing bushcraft...if tool has a saw,...it should also have an awl.....
It's really annoying to exchange utility blades on the prybrid

I didn’t buy it got that reason. Just figured it wouldn’t work well after 10 or 15 changes. I don’t think this is for someone who uses a mat knife every day. Like a carpet installer or something similar. But it seems great for most other people. Like a good junk draw tool in your kitchen.
Any idea if the armbars can be modified to have both the scissors and bit driver?
@tyronecox8011

There's ones that come with both
If the tool functionality was top end i would readily pay $150 for an armbar. Such a cool concept with such poor execution to get to a price point. I want a driver, scissors, tshank exchanger ala surge, can/bottle opener, reamer awl. Would be the perfect folding knife companion, and replace the saw blade with the file when you need to travel.
Got my first (and last) armbar off this sale. I've always like Gerber stuff but am surprised how bad my armbar is. Blade is hard to open. The unlock is hard to use. Just feels like a $10 multi-tool. Disappointed because it looks cool. Glad I didn't pay $40 for it.

Also it doesn't have a pocket clip! So I'm confused watching this. Apparently not every armbar comes with one. Guess I should have paid closer attention.
does the dual force have that annoying bit driver that we see on the centerdrive, where it wont take double sided bits?
@maxlvledc

yep, no double sided bits.

what a travesty@@maxlvledc
every Gerber I owned: looks „cool“, is actually impractical, feels like they didn’t think anything through, QC is trash, breaks easily
I feel like the knife, file, and saw on the dual force are mostly pointless. I think I would of preferred if they saved the weight and just left all the extra tools out and made it more stream lined with just the bit driver it would be so much better. If I'm carrying the dual force it would be in a bag and I would have a smaller/ lighter leatherman on body like the skeletool.
The arm bar is garbage. After 6 months of daily use all of the tools have broken except the awl and bit driver. Knife blade: Shattered Scissors: Mangled
There’s just something about Gerber’s that just always has a cheap feel about it. You just don’t get that with a leatherman or with a Swiss tool.
Carrying the Centerdrive i see... angry Leatherman sounds...
If you look around you can find deep carry pocket clips for that gerber utility knife/pry. 👍..... my opinion do not buy black oxide multitools from Gerber. I bought my supervisor in construction one and he broke the first one. Barely even cutting wire. I managed to return it and he broke the replacement. Again with hardly any pressure. My opinion if its multitools or at least ply multitools stick with Victorinox or Leatherman.
I still do not understand the Armbar or I should say why Gerber made it with a driver that not only does not lock, but there is not even a non locking snap in place on it. I gave up on it as it folds with just a little bit of pressure. I read where some folks open it at 90 degrees and put the driver in between two fingers to keep it steady. I have not tried this, but now my Armbar has a problem with the scissors. The spring slips and folds over the bottom of them and makes them useless. I can slightly bend the spring and it will work for a bit, but then it slips again. I can buy a no name brand tool for less than half the price of the Armbar that outperforms it. Right now it is just a small knife in my collection! I am afraid to use the awl and have not had a use for the hammer or bottle opener.
I think the large holes in the knife blades reduce their durability and longevity.
can someone make me a t shank adapter for my saw slot
If they made the Armbar Slimdrive with a bigger/better scissor instead of the knifeblade I'd have bought it instantly. I always like having a dedicated folding knife, so blades in multitools is a waste of space for me...
Algo
My examples of the dual force, lose outer metal shell, way to tight to open hand open the tools.
hii
I got the Dual Force and was disappointed... it just felt really cheap. Even at half-off it didn't seem worth it. And I agree, they could leave off the blade and I wouldn't miss it.
The armbar was a major bummer. It's a great and useful toolset but poorly excecuted in every way. Prybrid is cool but I'll keep my Milwaukee 6in1
Hmmm 🤔 what did I just?
I don’t know how I feel about these, almost every one of them suffers from lack of quality and design/manufacturing issues. The multi tools team needs to learn from the Strong Arm team 😂
I don't know why multi tools have knife blades. It's not like they even use a decent steel. There are somany better tool options that would make sense
I hate to say this, but Gerber really products really sucks.
