Gerald is far and above the best camera reviewer on the net. As a cinematographer by trade I reference his videos before making major purchases. Stoked that you brought him on!

You're a cinematographer and you take advice from a guy who admits he is not a film maker as to what camera to buy? And I think the other guy he is talking to is the guy who takes things out of boxes?

@@article1934 My dude. Gerald is extremely technically proficient in his camera coverage. There are two types of reviews I look out for. A - In the field testimonials from professionals who's work I appreciate & B - technical reviews that test the cameras in controlled environments to pick apart whether a camera lives up to the promises a company puts out there. Gerald is squarely in that second category and he is VERY good at what he does. If I want to know how the well the dual gain output of a Canon C70 stacks up compared to a Sony FX6, I look to Gerald first thing to see if he has covered the camera as often times he discusses performance hiccups & weakness that are missed by many other media outlets. If I want to know how the ergonomics of a camera hold up in dynamic field environments I'll probably be looking to someone like Mark Bone, Josh Yeo, or any number of professionals out there who give more testimonial driven reviews of a camera. Believe it or not Gerald is very highly regarded in the world of filmmaking specifically because of how thoroughly he covers & tests the technical elements of each camera.

@@juiceplanet147 kinda like being surprised that someone who inspects airplanes for a living isn’t also a skilled pilot. Completely different skillsets under the same general umbrella. Doesn’t mean that the plane inspector isn’t awesome at what he does, nor does it remove his expertise in any meaningful way. Sorta comes across as complaining just to complain.

I just crossed the 2-hour mark on the video, and MAN HAVE THEY GOTTEN ALONG SO WELL SO FAST. They met like what 45 seconds prior to this recording... and now they're talking about phases in life and whatnot like they've known each other forever?!? Love that Lew is capable of get all of this out of a single meeting with a person - that's pretty extraordinary imo. Props to both Lew and Gerald for an absolutely engaging experience. 🤍

ikr. It is amazing. And valuable. Takes some patience as an audience to get through tho. Sometimes it's a hard read at places/at start times, eventually it kinda picks up a pace. I like it when it does that.

Ikr! That was freaking awesome and amazing. I mean, I felt like I got to know not only about the guest in this episode, but Lew too, at that level/scale. It felt good. I suppose it felt good to Lew too. It was like they were interviewing each other. Like a "Double Interview" if that's a thing. Lol, it should be if it isn't.

Gerald, Dave and Peter... somehow Lew get his eyes on my subscription list :P good job with this interviews. And seems that long videos have pretty good audience :)

Blessing for the long episode! I love the longer content so I can keep it on in my headphones and it's not over before my drive home. I get to cook dinner and have this podcast on in the background. Honestly it makes me feel less lonely to have people talking in the background.

When it comes to camera reviews you either go to Gerald first or watch him second. Gerald should easily be over 500K/1Mill subs. The dude is awesome with the details

Knew this was going to get deep with Gerald being the guest. I love these long form “chats” that Lee is having with different creators and I hope these keep on coming.

These are conversation that need to happen more often and that SHOULD get the spotlight.

I remember seeing Gerald with a couple thousand followers, subbed, and have watched his journey on youtube grow and take off which has been amazing!!

I wanted to hear these guys. Especially after Gerald's packaging rant😂

This was one of the most philosophical and introspective interviews Lew has done yet. Love the intimate insights and the deep dive into how they both interpret KZread and what really goes on behind the scenes. Keep them coming! 🙏

You can always count on watching a Gerald undone video to answer any technical questions. Instrumental in my camera gear.

This was good. I did watch the entire thing from beginning to end and it was awesome. I felt like this was a conversation I would normally be apart of in my own life.

This is the only comment section im not afraid to scroll through because i know people here are just enjoyers of lew later

Lew you have very good conversations and when you were talking about goals/striving towards something and boredom today I could really relate to that. You have very good though provoking topics. Though I do tend to just play this show in background and tune it out a lot..

Love the convo. Lew, I met you at the Team Crispy event in LA. I watch Gerald's videos also and he puts in a ton of time and it shows. As a YT creator in the audio space, I understand what you're saying about being worried about influencing people to buy things they maybe shouldn't. Being in sales most of my life, I understand the power of persuasion, and there's a ton of a responsibility that goes along with it. I think a lot of KZreadrs are fascinated with their ability to influence because it is very powerful. One thing I try to do is to NOT persuade viewers, but rather to give the the information they need to make a better decision for themselves.

This episode was fantastic, I think a good way of putting it is this type of podcasting and interacting with other content creators is more or less philosophizing about content creation and the space that surrounds it

I considered turning it off and not watching after 45 minutes, but like many "normal" conversations I continued through and sort of clued back in and enjoyed the conversation as it continued

Watching these videos is the closest form of intellectual thought sharing needed for new creators who have no other youtuber friends or people who can relate to their process. Also I think this show gets better with every episode ♥️💯
