The young Hiseman..., excellent, fantastic..., in his youth already one of the great drumset soloists! Gratulation old rhythm-explorer. Rest in peace and thanks a lot for all your virtue in music over the years!

His Solo here (32:25 - 34:35) on the small Gretsch-Kit already shows some features of his legendary large scale solos with Colosseum ´69-71 when he took over Ginger Baker´s position as the most famous drummer.

Use to see George and the Blue Fames at the Ricky Tick Club a few years before this. This is classes the best I've ever seen or heard him.

I've loved Geogie since first heard him on radio in mid 60s n only lucky enough to see him once as good if not the best in his genre these islands ever produced jazz or type his forte n if he stuck to more commercial which he wouldn't or couldn't he would have been larger than huge just a v v talented man n v good backing group here

Jon Hiseman was already a great Jazz drummer in his early years but his backbeat stuff wasn't exactly happening then, and it shows on the boogaloo stuff they do here.

True, he's sounds a bit too busy on "Serves Me Right To Suffer". Funny, 'cause he is a powerhouse on The Graham Bond Organisation tracks recorded at Olympic in '66 (released as "Solid Bond"). They re-recorded some tracks ("Last Night", "Walking In The Park", and "Long Legged Baby") from the Ginger Baker days of the Organisation and they are arguably better.
