Veramente molto bravo Benny Goodman e very very good il pezzo da lui suonato all' inizio: si vede che i signori di Praga voleva proprio lasciarli a bocca aperta per la meraviglia. 27:30

uwielbialem ten zespol. Poznalem ich w Lodzi na zlocie gierkowskim. Chyba w latach 70-tych to bylo. Przyjaźn byla wielka. Jeżdzilem do Warszawy, Oni przyjeżdżali do Lodzi. Ryś Zawistowski nauczyl mnie dużo, to On namowil mnie żebym z zespolem Basin Street Band przyjechal na Złotą Tarke w 1974 roku. Nie pojechalismy po medale tylko po naukę i posluchać wielkich polskich kapel. Dzisiaj juz zespolu nie ma. Prawie wszyscy graja juz po drugiej stronie. Moj sentyment do Ich muzyki pozostal.

Check out Bobby Durhams drumming on the 1969 "Hello Herbie" album with Oscar Peterson, Sam Jones and Jazz-guitar great Herbie Ellis. One number called 'Day By Day', features Durham playing the coolest Bossa Nova drum tapping and brush combination ever recorded. The drum taps that sound like rapid clicks, are layered over sweeping brushwork that fills out the rhythm, as legendary Motown bassist James Jamerson would say, "Filling it" beyond what’s possible.

Can we just take a moment to marvel at the production quality of this audio? I am so proud to be Czech right now. Especially 00:11:25 listen to his flute. Right after he says, "Dekuji, thank you very much." (What a class act, OMG.) I am literally in another world right now, transported by his flute. Roland Kirk was an absolute genius.

In spite of the difficult days in Prague during the 1960s, the audience was very fortunate to be able to see this on their TV. It speaks volumes that the audience was so appreciative of this music which must have been frowned upon by the ruling elite at this time.
