I also did my father's eulogy. It's the hardest thing to ever do. To convey the love between a father in son to an audience who will never understand that the words you speak will never do the relationship justice. Great job 43.

I was unaware of my father's funeral. I was at school having no idea it was taking place. It was my mum's decision. I was only 8. I understand her view point. And respect her d decision to shield me from the pain and reality of it. However I still wish whole heartedly that I was there to say goodbye. That omission really eats away at me to this day. Over 20 years later.

@Kel H Because people seek to laugh when they are in grief or distress. If you’re in tears, you’re emotionally heightened, and all it takes to laugh is someone cracking a small joke to provide comfort, which is evidently what happened when he went to sit down. There’s nothing “not right” about it. It’s called being human.

Imagine if you had the facts right. Those were Iranian passengers not Iraqi civilians. George H.W. Bush was not the president during that time and had nothing to do with what happened. If you are going to trash someone have your facts right about what you are saying. He actually came out and said he was never going to apologize for America for that saying he would never be an apologist for America. I am guessing those kinds of facts won't help your narrative though. Nice try though.

There is freakin play about how everyone remembers! This CIA asset who subsequently became director and president was photographed there at the JFK parade that day. GW was an imperfect man but one oh my absolute favorites for his humanity, compassion for all Americans, and ability to bring people together. Exactly the man his amazing father GHB was. GW was a true gift from God on 11 Sept 2001, and was the right man at the time to be in the Oval office. I was a major in the USAF that day and was so comforted knowing our country had a good man as CIC. Thank God Almighty I never had to serve under DJT, the antithesis of these two great men.
