I normally hate unnecessary banter in real life but Frank and Estelle crack me up so much with theirs. They can go from 0-100 at any moment lol

As a proponent of unnecessary banter (seriously, get over your ego, people. Have banter. You aren’t important enough not to speak.) I’m glad we can find this common ground, even if you need to improve yourself.

My grandparents are like clones of them only meaner. I love them but its like living in an Asylum. They turned 85 this year still going strong in the making life hell department. As i said i love them. Still its the truth.

The man in the Cape is Larry David. Dude also voiced Steinbrenner.

Christ almighty, Estelle and Frank were basically my parents. Married 54 years, could not have a normal conversation. Also, if you remember the episode, the man in the cape was Larry David. He would randomly show up in different roles throughout the series.

Do the Seinfeld episode with the library investigator Mr. Bookman. I could watch Seinfeld on a loop.

Stiller and his wife Ann Meara were a famous comedy team (she also played Oswald's mom on King of Queens.) They regularly appeared among other places on the Ed Sullivan show back in the '50s - '60s

Our family referred to my late Grandparents as "The Bickerson's". Any little thing would set them off and they would start arguing. It must have worked for them they were married for over 75 years and recently passed away. Gramma at 94 and Grampa at 97. Grampa lived on his own and still drove his car until the day he died.

Fun trivia: in the first scene of the episode, the man in the cape was Larry David! Normally he doesn't like to be in the episodes (except to do voice acting for George Steinbrenner and a few others), but he figured nobody would notice it was him.

It got great in season 3 because Jason Alexander (George) finally found that George was based on Larry David, co-creator of the show.. He did 't know that. You'll notice in seasons 1 and 2 that he was playing the role in more of a Woody Allen style. Then Larry told him, as he thought Jason already knew.

@@carlgemlich1657 I messed up my reply. Yeah, you can totally see the way he went from art house Woody (of course a great) to neurotic Larry David in season 3. It was the episode (The Revenge) where George quit his job then went back in and acted like he never quit. Jason loudly said to Larry "THIS WOULD NEVER HAPPEN"! Larry proceeds to tell Jason that it happened to him. He'd done it. kzread.info/dash/bejne/f5yJ2cFsp9zdops.html Larry laid into an SNL producer when he was a writer. A very new writer. He said he was done and stormed out. Larry, broke, realized he'd just thrown away a year's SNL salary. His neighbor Kenny KRAMER said he should just go back in and act like it had never happened. So Larry did and it worked.

@@carlgemlich1657 Of course he is! You take Woody, Mel Brooks and an overprotective Jewish mom and you get Larry David. And thank God for all of those who made him.

I love that Jason Alexander's response to this information was to make George an even bigger asshole. Although maybe asshole is too strong a word. I've noticed he almost never instigates whatever conflict he's in, and usually tries to handle it politely at least once and gets rudely rebuffed before he escalates it into some petty, self-righteous revenge.
