George ROMERO's Tales from the DARKSIDE intro FILM locations in Pennsylvania.

Ойын-сауық

The pilot version of George Romero's Tales from the Darkside was first broadcast on October 29th, 1983, but the series premiered on September 30th, 1984. The ominous intro was filmed in Pennsylvania State Parks and rural farm lands around the state.
In this episode, I attempt to find the locations and re-create the Tales from the Darkside intro, while checking out historic locations (and book sales) along the way.

    Tales from the Darkside...That music and narration really used to freak me out as a kid. For some reason I remembered a shot moving down a dark, dirt, road in black and white imaging, being the final shot of the intro sequence. This was really cool video brother!

    I have heard that in the 80's a portion of space highway outside Lewisberry was used for a movie... the movie people had a sign there as a prop, and some mischievous youths took possession of the sign

    Now do the locations of Night of the Living Dead movies. I’ve been to about 15 locations, while growing up in Western Pennsylvania. As teens, we always went to the cemetery, from the first one. Our favorite thing to do, at night, was to ditch any one who got out, by driving off and abandoning them. Happened to me many times, but we were so familiar with the cemetery, and had been there so often, it wasn’t scary. The cave they hide in from third movie, Dawn of the Dead, was 2 miles from my hometown.

    @@letadesanto6825 thank you! There are a lot of interesting small museums in the area. A few of my favorites are the Civil War museum in Harrisburg, Wrightsville Historical Society museum and Panorama, the National Pennsylvania Fire Museum in Harrisburg is really nice (plus my one video is on display there lol).

    The trees in the intro I've heard were inverted.

  • @runningintohistory

    @runningintohistory

    I wonder if they were referring to it being inverted optically or the luminosity. Because I had to invert the luminosity to match the effect from the intro. I'm also thinking if I would have shot with a 35 or 55mm lens, it would have compressed the trees to match. Maybe.
