National Lampoon's VACATION Filming Locations - 40th Anniversary - w/ Never Before Found Locations
Finally, I am covering the filming locations for my favorite movie of all time!
This video was originally intended to come out in 2023 for the 40th anniversary. Due to multiple unforeseen circumstances, including having to restart the editing process over twice due to software glitches, the video is going public a little bit late. Thank you for your understanding.
Although this movie has been covered multiple times, I did want to point out that in this video, you will find at least 3 locations that, as far as I know, have never been discovered before. That's something I'm pretty proud of.

Love all the videos aunt Edna really had a stroke and they had to stop filming. Was a hard shot since they went to each place.

Hey Kurt is the version of holiday road done by Vector Hold? I really dig the song I have been checking out some of his music on band camp reminds me of Jan Hammers work. Great sound!

What was your bands name? I've heard you reference it in several videos and I'm curious. Nice video, as always!

This was great! I love how you involved your family (I’m guessing, or strangers you found along the way) and recreated some of the scenes, I laughed my ass off.

Right, Eddie Bracken was a famous actor from the WW2 era and forward. I think playing Mr. Duncan in Home Alone 2 may have been his last movie.

The amount of time & effort put into creating this is staggering. A fitting tribute for a classic slice of my childhood. A simple thank you barely scratches the surface. Hats off to you my friend!

Bro your videos are so much fun but this one was just EPIC! Your meltdown scene deserves an Oscar! You are living your best life and watching your family be involved and enjoying it too is heartwarming. I’m always ready for what’s next!
She'a beaut, Kurt. My buddy got to work on the production as a production assistant when they filmed the Wally World stuff at Santa Anita. We were in high school and they had a very local specific class you could take called "race track management" so he was working at the race track and got picked to drive Chevy around in a golf cart. Pretty cool. Thanks for making this one
The amount of research and detail that goes into making these videos is amazing 👏 👏👏
I always got a laugh at what the pimp in St Louis says on the edited for tv version. “ What I look like? Christopher Columbo” 😂

Hey Bro Pardon me.. Can you tell me how to get back on the express way?.... " F@#K Yo MAMMA " Thanks very much !😅😂😂🤣🤣 Always loved both of those lines as a kid !
Great job! I showed my dad the Warner Ranch and Gremlins filming location videos, he loves all those movies, he raised me on Second City, can't wait to show him this one, keep up the good work! 👍
Does your son know how cool his dad actually is or does he think you're a dork like most kids his age think of their fathers. YOU ROCK KURT!!!
Hi Kurt, Jeff from Detroit. You just did one of my Top 10 movies. I never knew the gas station was on Santa Monica Blvd. I stay in that area all of the time when I visit, and I think my son and I ate at a restaurant that was where the gun shop was shown. My mind is blown! I don't know how you don't have 500k subs yet, as I've been enjoying your videos for many years. Keep up the great work!
Woohoo 🎉🙌 4th time is a charm?! Thank you for redoing this and getting it out there for us! 🤪🍻
Just like the movie THIS WAS FUN! So appropriate that the whole Crucial family took part in this! My favorite location video of Kurt's favorite movie! Great work and thanks for the memories down "Holiday Road" 👻💙🫎

Happy to see this posted after all the set backs! Great work
Thanks for the props to Adam...I saw his post a few months back. That homeowner was completely deranged. After Adam left, the guy jumped in his truck and chased him down. Good grief. On another note, I saw on a recent ComicCon type event that Dana Barron (Audrey) is in a motorized wheelchair. I wonder what she's afflicted with. So sad, though...she seems like a genuinely good and decent person.
LOVED this video (and of course the movie). Extra kudos for giving credit to Adam the Woo. He's equally amazing. Great work and an amazing video!

Kurt, I lived in Durango for 15 years. The silver cash register that Chevy Chase stole the money out of inside of the Straighter Hotel is still there till this day behind the counter
So cool man!! You did a fantastic job. Thank you
Really enjoyed watching 👍🏻
Thanks for another great video, just watched it again on VHS.
Well done, sir! Warms my heart seeing the original locations...and realizing I've stood at the lobby at the Strader Hotel in Durango without even knowing it was used in the movie!
My Stepmother was a very famous TV actress in the mid to late 80s and into the 90s in Studio City. As a teenager , I always loved going with her to her shoots. Got to see a ton of film locations and behind the scenes stuff that not many people get to see. I sure wish that I had an iPhone at that time to record all of that stuff !
One of my favorite movies ever! I watch this at least 1-3 times a month.lol.Thanx for sharing 🤘 Great video.!! Love yer channel!!
Amazing work! 👏
