I totally disagreed with the austerity policies the Tories handed to the country in the early 2010s. However, I am sceptical of this figure of 330,000 excess deaths. To put it in context, this would dwarf the pandemic death total completely. Did the numbers dying literally explode during 2010 - 2015? If so, what did these people die of? What were their ages? In what specific ways did the austerity regime cause huge numbers of perfectly healthy people to die suddenly over a five year period? Does anyone know?

Covers everything from someone as dangerous as Osborne reinventing himself as "Mr Reasonable", Ed propping him up and erroneously conflating throwing confetti with killing someone. But the discussion was another example of people conflating several wildly different issues and arguing at cross purposes, making it really difficult to get a sensible point across. While I agree with the concept of civility in politics - after all you have to work with people of different perspectives to achieve anything - this doesn't mean that you give someone a free ride after imposing hideous consequences on the country - 'let's agree to disagree' doesn't cut it here. And while civility in politics was being put forward you were being treated rudely by the other guest without much push back.

SO glad it was confetti and not orange paint (for example). That would have just been SO AWFUL on your wedding day!

I really don't know how you deal with these smug heartless Tories. I get when debating people, if you lose your cool and start cursing and insulting its considered a loss. But oh my daze, i just could not keep so calm when talking to monsters that laugh in your face like some of these people do. My hat is off to you sir.

Our lives are in their hands and the policies they make. Not the other way around. That's my point.

The Labour right and Tories want to play politics as parlour game, not caring about the consequences of their actions.

It's totally right to call this out. Ed B and the other tory boy are totally out of touch. I am not upset over a bit of orangw confetti.

Why I do no longer watch tv. It's great you're invited to appear on mainstream tv. Thanks to you, the sheer arrogance and hypocrisy of those old farts is left exposed. Not that it will make any difference to how things are.

I don't know how Owen stays so calm on these shows. I would have headbutted the guy next to Owen if I was there.
