Melanie unfortunately I do not think he is resting at peace, if George Michael have not Repented of his sins and accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour then his soul is in a horrible horrible place where Jesus says in his word, "there is whaling and gnashing of teeth" everybody please Repent of your sins because this life is temporary but what matters is the eternal life; the Bible says in John 14:3 "Jesus is the way the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father except through me"

George is definitely the one behind. Not the one in glasses. The landlord of his local pub knew him for years and has said he saw him around town this year and he said you wouldnt recognise him at all. It wasn't the George Michael everyone remembers. It's tragic to think he was crippled by insecurities and self doubt, his mother's death was the start, but he managed to keep it together on the outside. But he just couldn't keep going. His later life was a long list of shocking incidents. Who falls out of a fucking car on the motorway? He went to jail, was mocked by the press for his constant 'misdemeanours'. Go and watch I Can't Make You Love Me and remember him like that.

All these years on and it still makes me emotional. Showing his young smiling face as they talked about all the kind things he did quietly just breaks my heart over again.

I dont think there will ever be a replacement. I think he was the best voice in the industry most heart. Its a shame and very saddening to not still have him.

A bad case of pneumonia I would guess; he was on a ventilator, tracheotomy and something like 11 days in ICU. He wanted to do a concert for the staff he credited with saving his life. What a nice guy, I would have stayed in hospital nursing forever if most patients were that nice.

I am sad because we were the same age and his music reminds me of the 80's and takes me back to the days of being a young Marine in Quantico, Virginia. The Wham songs Careless Whispers and Freedom were on the radio all the time! It seemed like I would be young and invincible forever! George probably felt the same way.So his Wham music and solo stuff like Father figure were part of my memories and history because when I hear it I instantly go back to the 80's and reminisce! George Michael had a great voice to me! I can relate with getting older and all that goes with it, especially seeing that old guy in the mirror! I choose to remember George as he was back then, the great 80's!

I too wanted to cry when I heard the news. I had just been singing his songs on karaoke on Christmas day right before I heard the news. So tragic. I loved him and his music so much. You are so missed, George.

We all loved George Michael regardless of if he was gay, straight, bisexual, young, middle age, old, thin, muscular, fat, with perfect vision or with glasses, scars or no scars. It really breaks my heart that he felt bad because he: 1. got older, 2. gain weight, 3. needed glassed for vision, 4. Had scars from recent accidents. I am angry with the LGBTQPA community also for making people feel worthless; if they get older, gain weight, or need glasses or change their sexual orientation. There are a lot of LGBTQPA bullies; if you are not hot and under 30; it is like your dead. For a community that has fought so hard to be accepted to turn around and treat it's own member poorly for aging, getting wrinkles, gaining weight, needing glasses are any other health issue is complete disgrace. This is not the Bullshit that People protested for equality for so many years to have petty issues like age, weight, vision, scars make people hate themselves. Making people feel bad for being older, having scars, gaining weight, needing glasses is just as fucked up as in the 1980's when funeral homes, medical professions, jobs discriminated against people with HIV/AIDS. For anyone who cares to not look at life in black and white, this is someone who had some kind of organ failure - this is not from eating food so we need to see this as a man who was dying - not someone who ate too many donuts. He died 19 days ago and he still hasn't been laid to rest - my heart is breaking. He gave us so much joy with his music and he was terribly self conscious. Please don't share these images and afford this beautiful man the respect and dignity he deserves.

I watched one of his music videos the other day and I love his wonderful smile the way he looked, he was genuinely happy to be performing. RIP to one of the greatest artists, we love you and we miss you.

George Micheal gained weight because he was taking those nasty steroids (Prednisone) to help with the swelling off his lungs since his dreaded illness in 2011. Prednisone cause massive weight gain , along with making one very very depressed. I was put on them a while back, I was only on them for a couple days but boy did they make me so angry and depressed and suicidal. I was crying and angry and an emotional mess and on top it was making me hungry to the point off wanting to eat the plate. Thank God I recognised it was the pills.. i chucked them in the bin and vow no matter what I will never take that shit again.

mysterychemistry I read UK online news that GM was on steroids to help with breathing since 2011 after his severe pneumonia he had lost some off his lung capacity. I had the same problem and only steroids they give are Prednisone. Its a nasty medication.

mysterychemistry Dreaded illness that GM had in 2011 he was very ill with pneumonia which turned into Staphylococcus. This took away his lung capacity, gave him breathing problems etc.

Good grief, why bring his weight into this?? A lot of people gain weight as they get older. Let him rest in peace. The fact that he was overweight doesn't factor into anything important.

I read somewhere that George Michael wrote Careless Whisper when he was 17 years old. The lyrics we're if someone much older and wiser. "Ignorance is kind, to the heart and mind, there's no comfort in the truth, pain is all you'll find." "How could I have been so wrong, that you had to leave me alone?" He was one of the best song writers and performers of all time. His death is very saddening.

A great way to go, in your sleep, many worse ways to die. Anything over the age of 50 is bonus time for many. Thousands of 40 and 50 somethings die of heart failure every day caused by many factors. This women in the video speaks with such unwarranted authority. Pffft!

I always have loved his music (not to mention he's gorgeous) and I have always sang his songs to my child all the time in our everyday life. I sing "wake me up before you go go" to get up for school and "you gotta have faith, faith, faith", ha ha! Shows how popular his music even from back in the eighties still is! The photos I saw showing him with weight gain to me look like he was bloated from retaining a lot of water not actual weight gain so he might have had congestive heart failure. He seemed to be so out of breath in one interview which retaining of water around the heart could cause. It's such a shame, he was still so young. It seems if he and the people around him were more observant about his unusually unhealthy appearance maybe he could have avoided his early demise. Hindsight is always 20/20. RIP George. You will be a greatly missed beautiful and talented man!

Liver disease can cause fluid and ammonia buildup in the brain the fluids feel your body from head to toe. Yes, it's clear that this is fluid build up and not regular weight gain, it would of all been part of the fallout from the drug addictions. Poor bloke, he still had so much to give.

Yes can concur with previous post - steroids can increase weight dramatically as I know ! Went from 17-21 stone as was on prednisilone and methotextrate for a rheumatic disorder Not sure what it serves showing pictures of George and all the nasty stuff about drugs etc . I will remember him for his truly god given writing skills and his timeless music However surprised to hear that current boyfriend slept in his car on Christmas Eve - this appears to have just come out ? Guess we will never know true circumstances of George's death ? RIP 🎄

I understand what george micheal was going through with the drug use . I was a heroin addict for a couple of years but I was bad on pain killers for like 20 years and when you been on drugs that long its very hard to be completely sober . I been off heroin for a year now and im sober now but its still a struggle to this day to be clean and it is a battle . but may he rest in peace and may the lord forgive him and give him joy in the heavens

he looks like I did when the docs had me on steroids. I gained sixty pounds in three months, and half of it was in my face. I bet it will come out that he was being treated for something pretty serious and chronic.

I graduated in 1984, the 80s was one of most influential decades ever! The movies, music ,fashion , television and technology! We are the parents of todays children and for some we are the grandparents as well! Many of us 80s kids are now in charge ! We run our country and the major aspects of most businesses! Are values work ethic and strict rules have mentored our children of tomorrow and defined our country as a whole! I’m proud of the decade I am from and wouldn’t give it up for all the money in the world! The 80s wow top gun, rocky, the breakfast club preety woman, depth leppard, Bon Jovi, journey, George Michael, so many great artists such a great time to have been apart of!

His music will stay for generations
