George Michael Honest Interview - 1998
PLEASE Subscribe to this channel, I've LOTS more videos to upload.
This video is from my own old VHS tape collection, which I've converted to digital format, sorry for any loss of quality. Unfortunately, KZread has blocked the songs George Michael sang on the show (A Different Corner & Outside) from being shown due to strict copyrights. Very sorry.
A very special George Michael interview, from when he appeared on the 'Parkinson Show' back in 1998. The complete show was just for George (no other guests).
George Michael talks honestly & humorously about his life. He actually sings 'A Different Corner' and 'Outside' live in the studio during this show. Unfortunately, KZread has blocked them from being shown due to strict copyrights. Very sorry.
All I can say about his performance & voice is . . . PURE CLASS!

*It was Entrapment which is not good.* Just a Setup but he couldn't say that. You don't initiate and make advances at a person then arrest them if they respond. It's very Dirty to induce a person to commit a "crime" that they would have otherwise been unlikely or unwilling to commit.

I really came to appreciate him as a talent as I got older. I was born in 88 so in the 90s and 2000s he more or less passed me by. It's a complete cliche but you don't really see vocal talents like him anymore. He had one of the most effortless, smooth vocals probably ever. Great singer and songwriter.

He handled what could have been career suicide in such an empowering way. By stripping away the power from the media and putting the ball in his own court he shut them up. That took fortitude. No he didn't. I wish he would have. He made excuses and blamed others for his actions. He even strongly suggested that the media and police worked together to set him up. How would the media and police know he would be in that public bathroom at that moment? They couldn't know. Blaming others for your actions isn't integrity or courage. Accepting and owning your actions would be integrity and courage. He played it off as a joke, not a big deal, and wrote it off as a conspiracy. Theres was a reason why police in the US were doing those set ups back then. A lot of very young boys and men were being used, manipulated, hooked on drugs, and then sold in public bathrooms to other men willing to pay. Pimps and drug dealers got the money while these boys and young men were used up and thrown away once they couldn't make money anymore. The police did a great job of stopping it through the stings and making the arrests public. The men going into public bathrooms to buy sex from these boys stopped bc they didn't want to be in the papers. The pimps and drug dealers stopped selling the boys in the bathrooms bc they couldn't make money that way anymore. GM saw himself as the victim in the situation when he wasn't. He was part of the problem.

@@MM-hq2xb So who is lying? Either the police are lying in the police report or George is lying. What would the motive be for the police to lie knowing that it is a crime to do so and they are dealing with someone either with an awful lot of money or access to an awful lot of money. He could have filed a huge lawsuit against BHPD (I thought the arrest was in Beverly Hills so George's claim about the LAPD is false if he was arrested by BHPD). George's motive for lying is clear if he was indeed looking for sex. By downplaying the incident and not taking responsibility, he makes himself not look as bad.
@Kurt77777

@@lolasmom5816 I agree with you about George Michael not taking responsibility for his actions, and pretending that he was set up and entrapped. He also made light of him cheating on his boyfriend which probably wasn't very funny to his partner when he found out. I don't know much about paying boys for sex and drugs and all of that stuff, so I can't comment on that. I live in Los Angeles and my understanding is that if you are looking for sex and/or are approached by someone offering sex for money, you should always ask them if they're a cop. That way, you can't get arrested because they have to tell you the truth. I also thought that this happened in Beverly Hills, so George's claim about LAPD wouldn't even be true. Beverly Hills is a separate city with a different police department. LAPD has no jurisdiction over the city of Beverly Hills.

Also, the best music video of all time.
Embarrassing situation handled with honesty and grace. How refreshing. What an amazing human being, taken too soon from us. Impeccable grooming and his pinstripe suit!
Even his arrest did not slow him down. What a gentleman.

@Marinda Stressino - Truly.
He had a great sense of humor and handled the questions about the incident brilliantly! So sad he passed so young - what a talent!
Great singer, superb songwriter and his honesty and grace in the face of so much public scrutiny is astonishing. He is missed.
I was there in the audiance george Micheal was lovely ♥️
What a lovely man, and what a tragic loss to the music industry.
Now that is what you call a superstar!! Such a dude. 💙
He is so adorable and so likable. It is tragic that he had such a sad life toward the end.

What a beautiful soul inside and out. I’m sorry that he wasn’t able to enjoy a lot of his short time on this earth, but so glad he left us with his beautiful gift to enjoy for years to come.
I must say I liked George. He handled that interview perfectly. Legend
I offered George a coffee in Club Class on British Airways about 30 years ago... he was incredibly shy, to my great surprise.

he was indeed beautiful guy , and so nice with it .🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
He’s sooo charming. I love when he talks about his family. When he said he wasn’t looking forward to his dad’s phonecall. Even though he’s in his 30s and a massive star. He’s so down to earth and relatable. I can see why the reality of fame was difficult for him. He always said he wanted to be famous but he never wanted to be anyone but himself and you can tell that about him. He remained the same person throughout fame. Good for him.
The humour, the bravery, the courage.....the bold raw honesty.....such grace and humility.....ahhhh you are so missed George.......miss you more each day...wish there were more today like you......Superstar of a past era
George is so gorgeous here; look forward to Last Christmas this time of the year every year.
I love George Michael and I miss him so much. He was such a talented man and artist.
What a shame how much this person had to go through and yet carries it with so much grace. Rest in peace, man!
George Michael is pure class!
Such a gent ,what a loss to everyone ,God bless him always

That wasn't only an honest interview, also a beautiful one. What a huge politeness between them.👏 How lovely.🥰 😊 George Michael was almost everyone's crush.😍🥰 He was a handsome gentleman, even with that incident. He's voice was also perfect.👌 😍 He always sang like an angel.🎙 I'm always listening😌 and dancing 💃 to his music 🎶, till this day. ♥️
Who knew ~ Such a dry wit & pure comedic timing. He was a Gift. ❤️
I miss George Michael honestly, he made us feel great about our sexuality and his music is timeless.

Wow what an interview ....First time seen it. Such honesty & humour. Wish he could been a Politician he'd certainly been more listened to HAHA ! Hope he knew how loved & warmth we had for him before he laid to rest.
He was one of the greatest singers ever with looks to die for and an even bigger heart -RIP George-we miss you so much
A gift of a human being. Sadly missed.
Very well-spoken, great sense of humour, humble, with a great sense of auto-irony. What a legend this man was.
He was a nice Chap, with a amazing sense of humor. I was always a Huge Fan of His, and I am sorry that He's no longer with us. He was just a Nice, Decent Human being. RIP George- You'll always have a place in my heart and mind.😇
What a great interview. It is good to see him so happy and relaxed. Truly a wonderful and funny person during this time.
I could keep on listening to him endlessly. So delightful💗
