George is pretty easy to listen to. The classics are all I listen to.

Been an Alcoholic most of my life, plenty of times I’ve cried to George’s voice. When you can relate to the music it speaks to the soul. If I had any twin who was a damn singer and song writer, it was George Jones. I was a train headed downhill with no brakes, and I still struggle with the pain of regret and addiction. RIP George, your voice still lives on.

I am 26 and was drinking over half a 30 pack every night for 5 years, quit drinking 3 weeks ago. This song really means alot to me, and reminds me im not the only one who has been through this...god bless George Jones, may he rest in country heaven

Stick with it Craig. The pros heavily outweigh the cons. I went through a spell for a few years, and can relate to some degree. It was a way of masking what I needed to deal with. You can do it brother.

I heard of this song shortly before typing this, when I learned that Alan Jackson sang his own hit "Pop a Top" then abruptly switched to singing this song. Once he finished, rather than bask in the applause, he got off the stage & into his bus as fast as he could. George & Nancy Jones, watching the show from their home, were delighted to see Alan stand up for him that way.

To me, this is the best country song ever written cause it represents the life I chose with drugs and drinking and now I am paying for those mistakes. I used to listen to this song in my darkest hour and now I stand in the Light. Things are much better now thanks to God, Jesus, and the Spirit. All glory be to the Trinity but thank you George for the piece of your heart you left with us.

amen man, its a difficult battle but a battle that must be won. i hope your still on the right path.

My grandfather passed away about five years ago, and George Jones was his favorite country artist. It's hard to explain, but every time I listen to him, I get so emotional and it takes me back to great times with my grandfather. Man I would do anything to have him back and for us to be able to listen to Jones one more time together.

The greatest showman and singer. The epitome of country music. I think everyone can rested to this song no matter what they have done or not in their life. Unlike some, George Jones acknowledged the demons that he had endured all of his life, and tried to fight the wrongs. We all have vices. Whether it's drinking, smoking, cussing, gambling, gluttony, etc. No one is perfect on this Earth. George Jones sang a lot of songs that touched peoples lives over the years, but this one is a masterpiece.

I was literally weeping at his funeral. Such a big part of my childhood and my grandma's favorite singer. She still has several records of his from years ago. Man, thankfully we'll always have his music to remember him. The sad part is that I was never able to take my grandma to a concert, I was looking to do it during his farewell tour but that never happened. RIP George.

Now that I’m closer to the end of my life, than the beginning , this song really speaks to me on a personal level. We don’t realize when we’re young , how the choices we made then, will weigh so heavily on our minds when we’re older. Jones is the greatest country western singer the world has ever know. I was addicted and dependent on alcohol by the time I was 18. I drank everyday up until about 10 years ago. The only reason I quit is because heroin and bnboose got too expensive together, and I had to pick one. Quitting booze was easy compared to that shit. Clean and sober for 7 years now, at 37 years old. George, you got me through a lot, and this track gets me everytime. I love you old friend.

As long as there's one George Jones fan left, he'll live forever. He'll be gone when all the lives that he's touched fade away, and that'll be a long time coming.

I loved George Jones, when I heard he had passed away, I cried for three days. I grew up listening to his music in the sixties. No one else had the sadness in their voice that he did!

Ain't much better in life than hearing George Jones sing. Miss that man. So glad I met him. He's got a pretty choir behind him in Heaven now.

Fantastic to have these videos for memories, Jones will be missed by millions

Oh his voice got better with age and it was always great. I love this song He just got better and better. Love you George. He made some tough choices like most everybody does but man he put it out in his music and made it big. Him and Tammy were top of their game and so glad we have their music to enjoy. Miss them.

I first heard this song while I was in prison,and it hit some nerves.

I love this song. I felt like he was telling my story.

Hey, I was born and raised in the concrete canyons of Manhattan, NYC...so if there's anyone who knows C & W music, it's me !! ( smile ) I love George Jones, a very gifted singer/performer. I put him right up there with Hank Williams Sr,...well almost. lol Guess I just love C & W music. Rest in peace George, you were special, and this was perhaps your best song !.

+Joe Furlong Having lived in West Virginia, I could get WHN only sporadically, and then very faintly, as 1050 in New York is very directional. One of their jocks Bob "The Wizard" Wayne was from Farmington, West Virginia, about 8 miles up the road from where I live, and in my home county. He died in 1990. I also talked to Lee Arnold, Del DeMontreux, and many others on the request line.

My parents got the album that had this song on it for my friend Matthew Christmas of 1999. We were dating at the time. Of all the guys I've dated before he was the only one I kept a real strong friendship with. We were there for each other in good times & bad. Our friendship is like brother & sister. I called him Hermono which is Spanish for brother and he called me Hermonita which is Spanish for little Sister. He went on to be with the Lord April 20th 2014 Easter Sunday. I miss him Dearly.

I seen this man, George Jones in concert in 2008. One of the! Best shows I've seen.

the world has lost a treasure. i have lost my hero and the man whose music has comforted me, made me laugh and cry for over 30 years. My favorite memory of George was at the Memphis City Fair in the 90s. I didnt even know he was there and I was walking through the crowd and heard his voice,thinking it was someones radio. To my delight,there he was in an open tent singing and playing to a small crowd of about 200. My heart stopped and i sat in front of the greatest singer of all time.

Singing along, George ...yes, indeed, we do live and die with the choices that we make ..thank you and missing country legends like you and Merle, Johnny, Hank ...and the music that you do play and share ... Thanks for posting ...

my ex fiance was an alcoholic and I think of her often, but was unable to live her life. All the rehab in the world won't help if you believe it's other people's fault you drink. I still miss her and the good times, but the bad was horrible. I do wish her the best.

+franklin miller For me the losses finally overcame the good, do not know when I lost the ability to drink sanely but as sure as I can bear my soul here. If I could go back I would run,, I lost a lot due to my drinking. as I said the losses finally became to much.

If it wasn't for youtube, and my old collection, I wouldn't be able to listen to country music.

"Choices" is the greatest song by George Jones. Ever. This timeless country classic should have spent at least 4 weeks at #1 for "The Possum" back in 1999, yet this did not hit the Billboard top 20.

George was the best and no one will ever come close to him except maybe Keith Whitley

I watched this live all those years ago and I will always watch me some George Jones. And this song hits me at heart.

l agree with you, indeed George Jones is a great and talented artist who's songs never goes out of style, he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and always heals the Soul, I pray God gives you lot of beautiful days….

If you hear george on the radio there's no guessing it's him these new singers all sound the same. I met mr. Jones and he didn't mind talking to his fans you can also tell he did it for the love not the money

Love his music, never will I forget him

The true definition of a Country Classic is any George Jones song.....Who's gonna fill Your Shoes, Mr. Jones.........I have my doubts they will ever be worn again.....
