I decided to stop smoking THC earlier this year, kept smoking CBD (with a little THC) decided to cut it out fully earlier this week because I kept feeling convicted by the Holy Spirit but I ignored it. Just sharing my experience because I feel free now. And wish you & Bell peace. The Holy Spirit leads us all individually and I’m so proud of you and where you’ve been and I am so excited to see where you are going. I’m the same, I’ve been smoking since I was 14, everyday since 16, around 2 grams a day. The stuff I’ve done in between, I won’t even mention, I’ve never done any other drugs other than lean, but weed sure was a spiritual barrier that blinded me from the true madness and degeneracy I partook in from a yout. I’m 22 now, I quit weed with the start of lent, just temporarily for lent, but about 2 weeks in I felt the conviction to quit it, and spiritually I feel so much clarity. I’ve been going to Church like never before, praying way more, just feel different in a good way, all thanks be to God. All good things come from Him, if it wasn’t for Him, none of this would’ve been possible for me. Us Orthodox have our Easter or Pascha coming up this Sunday, and to think I was going to celebrate with a fat spliff is now completely absurd to me. Putting down the spliff has got to be one of the best decisions I’ve made in trying to walk with Christ

George, I think your perspective on fearing the Lord and hell is very interesting! One thing that comes to mind is this verse in Matthew 13:49 - 50 which speaks of hell being a place of eternal fire. It says, “This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Also this verse in Mark 9:43, “If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out.” Now this “eternal fire” could be a metaphor for what happens to your soul when you are separated from God, but to me scripture seems pretty clear that it is in-fact a literal place. Not to mention there are many testimonies of people who claim they have gone to hell and have testified of what they have seen. I used to think the same thing, “why would a loving God create a place called hell? That doesn’t seem like the God I know.” But the God of the Bible is righteous which means He judges righteously, which is what hell is, it is a place of judgment. Hell was never meant for us, it was designed for the fallen angels. But there are spiritual laws that must be followed as a loving and righteous God. He doesn’t change His mind, like it says in Numbers 23, “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” ‭‭ One thing that brought me comfort on this subject was meditating on the character of God, knowing that He is good and He is loving, ‭and just because we don’t understand something He does, doesn’t make it evil or wrong, it just means we don’t understand yet. When I got saved I was still smoking weed. I felt the same way as you at times when you said you liked smoking and then reading the Bible, it opened your mind. That’s how it was for me but instead of reading the Bible while high, I was outside just in awe of Gods creation and speaking to him. But when it was time to re-up God spoke to my heart and said “you don’t need that to be close to me, read and I will speak to you.” I would be lying if I said I quit on my own, all glory goes to the Most high. This has always been a hope for me. NF has alot of anxiety so idk if he does interviews, went to one of his concerts and it was weird he didn’t really talk, just sang and when it was over it just ended no last song or somg requests, my wife went to a michael buble concert and he was doing a whole comedy show

George and Co, I want to thank you for your show. I have been wandering in my faith, but the Cliffe interviews made me sit up and reassess my walk with Christ. God used you to speak to me, I thank you. Shortly after the episode and my readjusted attitude, My Eldest Son of 16, professed faith and is due to be baptised on 26th May. He recently joined the British Army, first time away from home, and made the choice by himself to become a Christian. It has been an emotional ride the last months but what joy fills my heart. Hey George I hope and pray you somehow come across this coming from and growing up in the 2010s and being apart of a generation who has strayed away from God being one of my only friends and family members who's faith has never faltered to see your voice and podcast grow to the lengths where we can have simple episodes where we just have modest conversation rather then it always being conversation about things going on is nice and a relaxing alternative to the craziness the media is always shoving into our faces. I just want to thank you, George I know you will be humble and give your Glory to God and I Agree but as someone from the outside I just want to give you credit for your part in the puzzle if your body is the vessel for the message then the holy spirit is the captain of the boat.

George I respect you more for your transparency. There may be others who come for your throat for smoking or cursing. But we all have things we do that are hard to fight. Thats more real than trying to shame you for being human. You're the reason I started taking steps closer to God, and it's your transparency that made me feel safer to come to God. When before, I was shying away because I already had felt that I'd done so much that is wrong in eyes of the church or other christians. George, you are right, hell seems to contradict the all loving nature of our Father. But our Father loved the world to the point He gave His ONLY begotten Son! Can you imagine to sacrifice your one and only son for sinners? This is how much our Father loves us! So, even though we may not fully understand why there's hell, we can have perfect peace in the love our Father showed us through His one and only Son. Nice point. But the Bible also says that God is just God. That if God just snapped us out of existence then there no Justice for the ones who turn away from Christ. Because if they’re just gone then there no need for reception cause many people are fine with it. God doesn’t send anyone to hell. He allows people to choose between him and eternal hell. So when people reject him, he honors their choice and let’s them go. Hell isn’t just fire. But it’s desperation from God. The Bible also states that he’ll is a real place and that at the end of days all the non believers and demons will be cast into the burning pit. But that’s why the Lord commands us to share the gospel. So that many will turn from sun and find where the living bread is in Christ jesus

Use to be very anti religious. Not proud that I’ve disrespected Christianity. Had George and cliff keep popping up in my feed for months, each time I’d sit and listen more before I skipped to the next, felt like I was being pulled to Jesus. As much as I love the idea I think he isn’t quite there yet. He seems more like a promoter for the kingdom and has and will bring many people in for sure. That’s why Cliff and his son are perfect guests right now: open arms and the good news. Orthodoxy on the other side is tough love in comparison. It would be much deeper for sure… but also more hurtful in some ways.

@@2ichtwerker I’d recommend for you to read this book called “river of fire” by Alexandre Kalomiros, it’s not too long but speaks volumes. Church isn’t a courthouse for us, it’s a hospital, we welcome others with open arms, it’s all love! No such thing as a silly question etc, and in the Orthodox Church we can see the fullness of the Christian faith and preserved doctrine/traditions, something I know George would love to test and ask about considering his fear of becoming a wolf in sheep’s clothing and leading others astray. I personally think George’s heart is in the right place, and I think if any denomination of Christian guests are invited, including other theists/philosophers, than is only fair to request an Orthodox guest on. Now what might be “too much” is getting on man like Jay Dyer, who I think is great, but it would be better to get a priest on, rather than man like 😂😂 May God bless you though my broski, or my sister lol (it’s wrong to assume)! @@Kris-sv2fn thank you for the thoughtful response. English is my second language only so I sometimes lack of understanding nuances in reading and likewise in writing. I personally would love for him to speak with Trenham for he had a big influence in my journey as had his book Rock and Sand. As far as I know George was raised in an environment close to the Assyrian Church of the East, so he is quite familiar with orthodox denominations. Maybe even too much for now? He does such a great work in bringing many people back to Christ regardless of denominations. And yes, his heart is in the right place. But yes, maybe you are right. It surly won’t hurt anybody. But George is in such a sweet spot right now… I guess everything is just perfect as it is right now. I can’t really explain but I think he should ride the wave he is on right now. River of Fire is on my reading list and I will read it next after I have finished the book of Seraphim Rose I read at the moment. Thank you! And god bless you, too!

@@2ichtwerker I appreciate you! English is my second language too, I was raised up in the UK so I do speak English like a local lol, but I’m originally from Bulgaria. Out of interest can I ask, and based on your reply, are you Orthodox? Those books are very good by the way, I’ve read a few pages but would love to get a copy and read the rest of Rock and Sand. I agree though, i love to see where George is now, but he’s seeking the truth, and is in a stage of growth and education himself, and I can see that he has a lot of humility, and even when his friend was giving him praise saying “not everyone would be able to do what you have”, George didn’t reply, because George knows all good things come from God, and so he lacks in pride, which is good. I think if he was to have an Orthodox guest on, it would give him time to ask questions and think/pray on the answers he receives, and if He asks God for guidance, just as a son might ask his father for some bread, the father won’t give a stone, but he will give bread. If George continues seeking, he will find, and the huge platform he has would be a great opportunity to clear up so many of the misconceptions people have regarding iconography, baptism, the Eucharist, “works” lol, and much more, which could mean a difference between life and death for so many. We just need to have faith in the will of God, regardless where George steps, if he is to turn away from Christ, take a step towards Him, become Protestant, Catholic, Orthodox, Muslim, Jewish, or even a JW or Mormon, we just need to have faith in Gods will and pray that it may be done, as well as praying for George. God willing then George will be protected from deceit and guided closer to the way, the truth and the life! But you might be right who knows, as a wise man once said, I know that I know nothing! 😂

@@Kris-sv2fn well said! I guess we are completely on the same page regarding George. I am from Germany and was raised as a Protestant. Which in Germany means quite nothing… I never considered myself religious until a 2 week water fast last Easter (unintentionally at the end of lent). Since then my life has changed radically and I was lead on the path becoming a catechumen. So I am not yet orthodox. God willing I will be at some point later this year.

Chris Williamson, Modern Wisdom, comes to mind. He is willing to acknowledge the potential reality of God in a truly open hearted way. I think in discussion with you he would have a hard time coming away from it without a bold faith. george i think your channel is the perfect place for people who have not yet boldly proclaimed their faith in God to be challenged. I love that I learn stuff from most of your guests, but I think you have a gift that you can massage someones faith to the forefront.

I’ve had the same thoughts about hell recently and if you go look at the original words that have now been translated into hell, it’s very interesting. I think your points make perfect sense as well. I’m still not fully sure what I believe in regards to hell but I do know that I love Jesus and will continue to try and learn and grow closer to him. As a Muslim, I love George's non victim and non blaming mentality. A priest got stabbed and it's a shameful and weak individual who attacked but George didn't jump to blaming or getting angry but focused on God and the concept of love. In what way Christian's scripture is close to Islam? There is no comparison. Eye to eye and tooth to tooth is different than love, forgive and have peace. The list is long but just one cornerstone example. Christ is king 👑 He is the Way, Truth and Life ✝️

Hi my brother, I love you Muslims, I almost became Muslim myself. I was in a dark place, and I had no Christian friends back then, my faith was lukewarm too and my faith was built on culture rather than true faith. It was my Muslim brothers who tried giving me dawah, who provoked me to seek God, the Muslims around me inspired me. A lot of my friends are Sunni, but I became more attracted to becoming a Shi’ite with research. But with further research and prayer, I came back home to Orthodox Christianity, and I urge you to try it if you like. I would feel like a hypocrite if I didn’t invite my Muslim brothers and sisters, as they invited me to seek the truth! Your prophets first cousin became Orthodox too, you can read about his life in the book “life of Muhammad” or you can just google about him. Anyways, love you though bro! May God bless you! ☦️❤️🙌

As someone with 150+ days on a 300 day cover to cover reading , its great. I do about 2-5 Old Testament and 1 or 2 New Testament chapters a day and its great. Ought to maybe be an option y’all approach. Big love, keep keeping yourself in check.
