Hey BD., Man, super thumbnail! So nice to see a film bout this one, it is. Yeah, around here, they started distributing& selling these, made in Germany, wks before that sweet box hit our ordering, for the shop. So, as didn't know& had to have 'Dark Horse, Xtra Texture' remastered- went ahead & acquired. Love them, we do; but of course now wud love to get the 📦 Box. You say is Great dvd,& will get diff. remaster of A.T.M.P., as well as Wonderwall. You do know, friend that ' Dark Horse ' box 's lid slides the same, yeah& that ( at least round these parts) rumour is the naked lady in the window is none other than ' Miss O'Dell', of whom he wrote that sweet ' b' side for! Ever heard the so, so number, we say, ' Gotta make a B side', ha. We loved Georges use of language, & sense de humour. take care Beatle D., M.

Hi Mike, Glad you enjoyed and the thumbnail , always thinking of how to make interesting thumbnails , I feel they are pretty important too! The box is super cool and yes realised that both were indeed the same after I found this out on the apple box, what a great feature! Actually your probably right about the naked woman there , Miss o Dell or Chris was actually at the Beatkefest in New Jersey a short while back, Brad got her to sign his 45! Thank you for the shout out! Much appreciated. I notice that in the background you've displayed a few soundtrack albums to Ringo films. Is this a hint of an upcoming video series, perhaps? On the topic of the video itself, I remember playing No Time or Space from Electronic Sound on the CD player of the pub I was working at at the time. Interestingly, it wasn't acknowledged particularly, although someone did point out that it sounded like the soundtrack of a sci-fi film from the late 60s/early 70s, which I thought was a good observation.

Hi Dave Great boxset of The Apple Years. I can see why people are selling it at expensive prices. They did really well with the presentation of this one. Paul was on TV last night giving a message to The Queen during the concert. It's my birthday next Sunday, so I'll be notching up another year nearer to 60. @@beatledavesbeatleschannel I saw Brad's video about Paul's US tour. We're both June babies, I'm 11 and a half months younger than one of my sisters, so we're the same age for a couple of weeks. I was born 6 weeks prematurely as it was dangerous for my mum to carry on to her due date in late July.

Great video, Dave! I’m not a fan of the latest All Things Must Pass mixes! No matter what people think of Phil Specter these days, the backing away of his ‘sound’ that was attained on the original release, is a crime! George’s output will be reassessed in the long run, and he’ll go down in history far more than his post Beatle years and career initially indicated! These are all part of his journey, and are each essential elements of The Beatles ‘Total’ story! Yeah, and Harrison always had the best head of hair of the ‘Beatle Bunch’!

Hi Michael, I think the original mix sounded great when it got its remastering in 2000 before George left the Earth, that version for me definitely sounds the best of ATMP. The new version is definitely an interesting listen and it’s good that it brings more fans to appraise and hear a fresh approach to the album. Agree , his catalog is definitely one to be proud of, so many little gems tucked away on those albums! He really did have a great head of hair George , on the Morecambe and wise show, he says “we’re the ones with the big fat hairy heads”!

Hi Dave, great boxed set. I got it for Christmas a few years back. Nice complement to the "Dark Horse Years" Box. The 18LP remastered boxed set combined both Apple & Dark Horse sets. Great video. Cheers mate.

i did by this when it came out, but i left mine sealed and in the mailer box it came in! Loved the rare Bangladesh sleeve, I wish you would do one that item and why it is so rare!! I saw on ebay recently for over 1000 dollars, I hope I can one in the wilds for cheaper. As always , fantastic job and look forward to your other videos.

Hi Robert, There was a time when I used to buy 2 of some sets and keep one sealed . This is such a great set thou it deserves to be played and looked at , so well produced! I’m hoping to gradually get there with the 45’s, I’m hoping to start a solo series very soon. Glad you enjoyed! Stay well!

Word on the street is that a super deluxe Revolver is coming by October. If the bonus material includes the XEX 6 -1 mix of Tomorrow Never Knows, I'll buy it. If it's just another Giles Martin remix, with a bunch of outtakes I already have on Anthology, like Sgt. Pepper, I'll save a few dollars

Hi Dave....you learn something new every day , I bought this on release and only now found out about the lid being able to slide back in the box !!!! I've looked on eBay and didn't realise it started at mid hundreds in price. Mind you whether people buy it at that , I don't know. It is a lovely box though. Hi, Dave. Thanks for the shout out. This is a really nice Harrison set of CDs. I know how busy you are, so do you get a chance to listen to this set or any others in your collection? Up until a couple years ago I didn't own a lot of post Beatles Harrison material. Not because I don't like his material, just haven't got around to it. I do have a couple cassettes of Harrison I do like. But over the last year or so I have bought his albums, just need a record player now.lol I do have the Concert for George on CD and DVD. Looking forward to hearing the All Things Must Pass album I bought. Cheers

Hi G, Your welcome my friend! I do put a cd or a vinyl on while I’m doing stuff sometimes when I can or listen to my MP3 player before I go to bed. I’ve always loved George’s post Beatles releases , they are probably my favourite solo Beatles albums with a few exceptions from the other guys! You will absolutely love All things must pass , when I first heard it 40 years ago, I couldn’t stop playing it ! Stay well!

At least on the Dream Scene track the mono version of Wonderwall boasts a radically different mix (it's a bootleg I have). Can you ever imagine a mono version of All Things Must Pass?

I do love the Wonderwall mono mix! Actually, a mono mix with some variations would be a great thing to hear!

Have only " Greatest hits,"on CD. All other George Harrison' s stuff is on vinyl." All things must pass," is the former Yugoslavia pressing,it' s gatefold no " Apple Jam," no poster,just two main records. Watch video from John Heaton he showed that album. Nice video Dave as usual,perfect handling of CDs' in gloves.

I regret not getting this box set. Difficult to get it at a decent price these days.

I have to check the Dark Horse box to see if it has the same kind of lid. why in the name of Krsna rhw Dark Horse lid is at the bottom (where the discs fall out if you pick the box up) is beyond me.

Great and detailed presentation Dave! I got the Dark Horse Years box from an auction site last year and paid a reasonable price. I then tried to buy this box but wow, it’s expensive. I couldn’t understand why as the DHY box was released ten years previously and still relatively easy to obtain at a fair price. So what happened with this one? I can only assume that they failed to anticipate demand, far too few were manufactured and they all sold out fast. But why make so few? So my search continues.

Hi Steven, Yes i think this is now the situation with the continued vinyl resurgence and CD lower sales. 10 years is a long time elapsed in the music business, so a box set then would have had a very healthy number amount produced but obviously now things have changed , so many less are produced in most cases, and when they are gone , they’re gone with no reissues. This particular set is very well made and produced, but if there’s demand, prices shoot skywards! Stay well!

Hi Trevor, Yes it kinda does because the wall is mirrored, I did actually think that previously.although I didn’t mention it. Well spotted.

So there WAS an Apple on the front sleeve! I noticed the 70’s era Capitol logo on the green sweater…. I think if George had taken time to recover, Dark Horse would have been a more successful than it was. The title track, as great a song as Dark Horse is, sounds like George actually loses his voice during the first verse. But, the playing is absolutely great throughout the album. (And I didn’t know when I bought the original CD that Far Eastern Man was dedicated to Frank Zappa!)

So technically yes there was that Apple! He was not a well man around that time with hepatitis too but I still love that album , Far East man is such a cool track, he mentions Frank Sinatra at Caesars Palace during the intro! Stay well!

Hi Dave, This really is a great sounding set and very good replicas of the original album artwork in CD size. I really like the enhanced booklets that come with each of the CDs as well. The lid thing made me smile, its the same mechanism on the Dark Horse Years box set as well. I probably wouldn't have known about this either, but when the box set was first announced there was a promotional video for it that showed an animation of the lid sliding into the slot. Thought it was cool then, still do. Cheers Dave

Hi Tone, It’s so well produced with great quality throughout and the booklets are very well informed. I must have missed that promo video on the dark horse set, but equally that’s another great set, although the bottom of that set has the lid so if you wasn’t thinking properly one day like me, the CDs may nearly fall out on the floor! Such a cool feature definitely! Have been without internet for nearly 4 weeks and has only just gone back on couple days ago, bloody nightmare! Stay well mate!

@Beatley Tone's Beatles Channel couldn’t have happened at a worse time when I’ve just got another job! Basically it literally just stopped on a Sunday , so 3 Sky engineers and 6 BT engineers later, they finally fixed what ever was wrong! I might have spent hours on the phone trying to get sense out of someone and get it sorted! Half the problem was BT closing the job every time when it wasn’t even sorted! Still it’s all ok ……..at the moment!
