George Clooney jokes about his Batman shame
Ойын-сауық
George Clooney jokes that if actors campaigned against each other like politicians do, rivals would quickly roll out pictures of him in the rubber Batman suit from the much maligned 'Batman And Robin'.

No actor in the world could have pulled off a convincing Batman in that suit. #BatNipples

neither could he, nonetheless
I always felt George Clooney could of been the best Batman if he had the right team to work with.

Well......
Well how good can you do when you have lines like "Hey freeze. Im Batman."
If you watch the making of video, it sounds like Joel isn't entirely to blame, except in the sense that he didn't say no to enough producers and toy manufacturers. The movie was forced to be a giant toy commercial instead of a legit film.
We all make fun of George for that role, but props to him for being a good sport about it.
Even though everyone hates batman and robin and says that Clooney is the worst batman its good to see him admit it and just accept it. So comic fans i know we all love keaton and bale but stop making fun of clooney please

I didn't hate Batman and Robin, atleast it doesn't takes itself way too serious and I can just be entertained by it. Fan4stic is the comic book movie I truly hate watching it cuz it's damn bad and it made it worse by taking it way too seriously

I wouldn’t even say he was the worst Batman. He was just in the worst Batman film. He played the character as well as he could with the material he had. I don’t hate the film either. It was the last campy superhero film we got until they started taking themselves more seriously. What people forget is if this film wasn’t so atrociously bad we wouldn’t had them reviewing themselves and rebooting the series. You could tell it needed just that in Batman forever. I wasn’t a major fan of that film but at least this film marked the end of an era of slapstick superhero’s: Tim burton’s were darker but still had an element slapstick in some of the scenes. Without this film being that bad, we would have had another Schumacher film which would have possibly meant no Nolan
People don't understand, the movie where George Clooney played as Batman was made for KIDS, it was supposed to be like that. I saw it as a kid and loved it I even had the action figures and shit. Bat nipples and all. lol but Christian Bale is the REAL BATMAN, because they did it RIGHT with the Dark Knight trilogy! Fuck yeah. annnnd now its over. :'(
you know the movie was not his fault in fact his bruce wayne was pretty damn good his batman....not so much I don't blame the movie on Clooney I blame the director and writers
@VillaBoys123

I disagree. Schumacher fucked it and the script was dire but Clooney clearly didn't do his research on the character and was well out of his depth ( at that point in his career.)

Im agree, Clooney what could he do? Nothing because the director made this movie is, maybe Adam West could made better but no one is like him

@@VillaBoys123 that's the writer's job cuz he's the one who wrote the script. Clooney as an actor is just simply following orders from the director and the script. Imagine if Heath Ledger played Joker with a terrible dialogue to say and a bad direction for his acting, he would've sucked ass as Joker if he gotten both of those. He wouldn't have trained his Joker voice if Nolan didn't told him to do it. Ledger's performance worked because of Nolan's script for the character and direction his acting. Clooney is a great actor and him, under the right director and script, he could've been a great Batman

@@Bjork4s there’s nuances in roles outside of lines but yes, if you dont have good lines those little adlibs never matter. You get an insanely talented actor saying shit lines with insane body communication
1:01 tee hee teeee heeee "looks over and thinks.........who are you agian.....?"
he is a really good bruce wayne you know the rich playboy but not a good batman
Kevin Conroy is the true batman, full stop...
I love Clooney as Batman. He played Campy Batman, most people don't understand that. I love both Campy and Dark Knight Batman.Michael Keaton is Batman but now Clooney will forever be Batman the Bright Knight...Rest in Peace,Adam West.
happy 57th birthday george timothy clooney !!!
I'm probably going to get a lot of a hate for this it wasn't Clooney's fault that he sucked in batman and robin everyone in that film sucked because of Joel shumaker (I don't know how to spell his last name but I don't care) if it had a different director like Nolan he would make a badass batman in my opinion if you don't believe me watch dusk to till dawn he played a badass character.

Clooney sucked as Batman. There was no menace to his Batman and his Bruce Wayne was just bland. The movie was pretty terrible itself but Clooney was the wrong choice for Batman.

The Dark Knight The movie was bad, yeah, but Clooney sucked in general. His acting was, at times, atrocious. He's just not right for Batman/Bruce Wayne. He's a great actor but I don't think he was right for the role.

You are half right Schumacher did write a terrible script for batman and robin but the casting was terrible too and dont get me wrong I love Clooney I think he's an awesome actor and who knows maybe he would of been good in Burton's batman but he wasnt Clooney honestly looks so uninterested its cringe worthy
George Clooney is the Batman we deserve, but not the one we need right now.
Oh, that one went right over my head :p
Batman and Robin was the tarnishing of Batman and many childhoods, but at least George can see that it was abysmal and laugh about it. Always and forever a class act.
LOL, this conversation XD
You gotta admit, his voice still could fit the Batman role if done right.
props to clooney for admitting this lol
"OVER ACTOR!" lol
I think they were all great and have helped Batman's character find a better form which is both believable and resonates with what people want to see. Its just like building a machine to perfection, it takes several attempts, alot of work and sometimes big companies come in and make everything silly like Batman and Robin...
good job sir, you made me laugh
This conversation never occured.
I've always pictured randomly bumping into Akiva Goldsman and asking him that very question, instead of saying "hello".
Strong breakdown, I would have to agree...With everything you've said here; rare!
1:01 So true, so true
Bale *booming voice creates in Earthquake that Clooney falls into*
to quote Kevin Spacey in Superman Returns, "WRONG!"
If actors had to campaign for roles, I'd go to Emma Watson's town halls and be a heckler shouting "WHY HAVEN'T YOU DONE PORN!? WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO HIDE?"
Shumacher: Hey, you should watch my Batman film, Batman and Robin! Joker: And I thought my jokes were bad...
What bull, I saw the adam west batman walking up the side of my building just last week. I poped my head out the window and said "hi".
As Clooney himself said in an interview,"I made Batman gay." I think he would've been all right if it weren't for Schumacher's candy-ass direction and the studio rushing the film out the door.
1:12 - George: "(chuckles) Matt Damon taking it out." Me: *nods nods slowly* "...Matt.. Dae... maaaaayyyyynne..."
At least he didn't mention the Bat Credit Card *looks both ways for Doug Walker*
even he knows what's up xD
Bale: IMNOTWEARINNIPPLESUIT!!
Bale: I don't wear hockey pads... or rubber suits.
Well said.
I don't blame George Clooney, I blame Schumacher for putting nipples on the Batsuit, and Warner Bros didn't ask him to do so. But come to think of it, I have to thank Schumacher for ruining Batman. If it wasn't for him, Nolan wouldn't make these perfect Bat films for us.
Well, i'll take his two movies to anything that has been done with the character before or since. Cause they are so much fun.
Yes George. Actors are the greatest people on Earth.
Yes I agree. I never would've thought of that but he would've been perfect
The vibe I get is that everyone thinks he’s the worst Batman of course but no one dislikes him as a person/ actor which is cool to see.
That was adorable.
you get the ice, ill get the iceman!!!!
haha well put
The mythical "dark grim tone" of the Batman comics of long ago is a bit over-dramatized. The first dozen or so original Batman comics from the 30s contained the dark adventures of a solitary Batman, but with the introduction of Robin (1940), the comic became considerably more lighthearted. It returned to its dark roots in the '70s, not '80s, thanks largely in part to writer Denny O'Neil. If anything, the Adam West show helped to make Batman as hugely popular as he is today.
Geroge Clooney is also the voice of Stans dog in seasons 1 & 2 of South Park
2 years, we are in 2013.
NO, you wrong ! - Clooney good-a Bruce-a Wayne - bad-a Batman !
Fantastic... I didn't ask who was the best. This is about Clooney's Batman.
Noooooo now we are gonna have this all over again :(
That's a bit harsh... Bale absolutely dived into the role as Bruce Wayne/Batman. He made it believable and he fit in with the realistic/dark aspect of those movies. He delivered such powerful lines extremely well. He and Michael Caine were amazing. The emotion and relationship between Bruce and Alfred were very sentimental.
christian bale's batman voice ! LOLZ
This is becoming the new "I took an arrow to the knee". -_-
yes!
Absolutely agreed!
thanks.
And Bale's Batman sounds like Cookie Monster.
good man haha
I am serious and don't call me Shirley.
while he was a passable Batman, let's not forget he was absolutely the best Bruce Wayne! Looked the part, acted the part, had the necessarily focus, coolness, and emotion associated with the character. Plus a very on-target voice.
Batman and Robin shows you that even some of the best actors in hollywood cant cut it as Batman but thats just my opinion altough im sure a lot of people will agree that Clooney is a brilliant actor
He sould have played BATMAN like his role in FROM DUSK TILL DAWN
Clooney to Bale: What gives you the right? What's the difference between you and me? Bale: I'm not wearing a nipple-suit.
I agree with what you have said.
No one was owned up to a bad film as much as Mr Clooney. He's been apologising for Batman for over 20 years !!
Noo! you do not joke about this!
They should have cast him in Batman v. Superman
i know, i was just quoting mr freeze
ironically enough, when chris nolan came along we got exactly the opposite of what warner's wanted back then. that's exactly why Tim Burton did not do a third, because warner's wanted family friendly and he didn't.
Did they give Evan an Evan bottle of water?
The movies children deserve...but not the ones they need right now...
That's inaccurate. The Batman comics of the 1950s and early 1960s predating the Adam West show were *very* campy, cheesy, goofy and lighthearted. They were aimed solely at children and the Adam West show was NOT straying too far away from the Batman comics at the time. The only difference being that the Adam West show was hilariously tongue-in-cheek about it all.
I don't like batman and robin but i could see George Clooney as a really good Bruce Wayne.
kindness ? right kindness ?
if only rocksteady can make the next batman trilogy then i'm buying!
Not always. They shined him up in the comics of the 50's and 60's to bring more audiences in. It was a different era back then, and michael uslan clearly states that each batman film is a rendition of the comic books during certain eras. Talk about not doing your homework!
@DemomanX614 I'm with you. He was the only one who really portrayed the Bruce Wayne side of it well.
most entertaining Batman movie ever!
hes the batman the fans deserve but not the one they need
That explains why I never saw Tony Stark and George Clooney in the same place!
He got paid $10 million for it. Yeah, I'm sure he's real sorry.

Good job you need a medal . lol
Imagine Nolan doing the Avengers and all are speaking with a hoarse voice. I'd be laughing my ass off! :')
Ha that girl looked so nervous
Happy accidents? He must know Bob Ross
WHERE ISH DA TRIGGERRRRRR?!!!!!
I think he acted well in that movie
you know..george clooney actually looks like hed be a great voice actor for batman and he also looks cool for an ALEX ROSS or JEFF LOEB/Ed Mcguinness BATMAN
Adam West. 'Nuff said.
No, Hammill, Dimmaggio, Nicholsen and Ledger are all different but the best for different reasons.
Agreed man!, Bales version seemed a bit darker....whereas Clooney's version followed the comic a bit more where he was more of a gentleman and seemed to be in control of himself as such.
Exactly. Just watch Clooney in From Dusk till Dawn. He had that edge and darkness that would have worked perfectly into doing a great Batman.
oh yes, of course!
I agree with you, appart of Adam West in the tv series. I should say that Michael Keaton performs the best Batman ever.
Lol. He's also the only one who never wore a batsuit.
nah, I don't really think Clooney "understood" the character he was portraying. Based on the way he delivered his lines
