GEORGE CLINTON And FUNKADELIC at Montreux Part 2

Музыка

Who says a jazz band can't play dance music? Who says a rock band can't play funky?
Who says a funk band can't play rock?....
We're gonna play some
Funk so loud
We're gonna
Rock and roll around
Watch them dance
Watch them dance
We really love to play
We really want to stay here !!!
Won't you take the time to get the music on your mind, we'll release you from the bind. We've been around for such a while,be kinda hard not to have style, when time get slower by the mile we relax and wear a great big smile ; you can count my teeth :
1,2,3
Four
Five
People think : "Cause we are here our jazz ran out,the ships won't steer no more... We picked up on the rhythm here If you just take a toot and have a beer :)
We're gonna make it clear
Ho ho
Yes, and when the morning gets here
Jazz and soul
We never take a chance
Music is our one romance, yeah
May I have this dance
Give it a chance !!!

It's what's in the grooves that counts. And I like funky shit. As a kid in the sixties I grew up listening to those kind of sounds. I swiped plenty of my parents albums . It paid off because now I am a keyboard player. And when they see those albums in my house years later. They swipe them back! I am a collective person head music of all kinds.

This, folks is FUNK! Dr. Funkenstein was in rare form and his amazing granddaughter was flowing like running water over a dam. Even when they slowed Knee Deep down, they brought it in operatic groovy funk fashion. Outside of James Brown, NOBODY is as funky as George Clinton (although we have to admit Bootsy is right there at the top with him, since he's the actual "bridge" between James and George). Long live the P-Funk

When George was younger the entire stage would be filled with his groups in psychedelic costumes (Bootsy, The Brides of Funkenstien, The Horny Horns) mad performers. At the Garden in NYC a space ship would descend from the sky and George would come out as Sir Nose Devoid of Funk. The guitarist would fly across the air in a diaper and land on the stage. The crowd would go wild. We had so much fun back in the day. This was Funk at it's best. My sister and I would travel the tri-state area following George. As time went on, it got too expensive to put on those large productions. I wish the older artist had been paid their due. The record companies cheated them. George had to stop using Parliament...went to Funkadelic and had to fight for his name and music he created (just like Prince). He got sampled so much and I don't think he was paid by all the people who sampled his music in the beginning. George should be a billionaire. Sadly, he is not, but I'm glad to see he still got the funk!. Luv you George!

It is amazing to see the evolution of the "Parliaments 1955 - 1969" to Parliaments and Funkadelic 1970*. The "s" was removed in 1970 and they called themselves Parliament. Funkadelic birth circa 1970 to eventually being known as P-Funk circa 1975. P-Funk All stars in the "80's to George Clinton as a solo artist* (still with the collective band), eventually back to Parliament and Funkadelic. "Whew"! Each era kept the funk moving forward. So many details and intricacies. George is truly a genius and his musicians are/were as well. Many people get caught up on the drugs or what didn't happen for them but they established themselves as the funkiest/creative band in the land. They had the ability of adding to or taking away musicians when needed in order to keep the funk moving forward. George did not get caught up on who was the best he knew who he needed at that time. All his musicians were superb and each contributed to this magic called P-Funk ! Man I enjoy the past musicians/singers like Eddie, Tiki, Debbie, Lynn, just as much as the new comers like Ronkat Spearman, Gabe Gonzales, Kendra Foster, Lilly Hayden, Amp Fiddler, Kim Manning, Belita woods. It goes on and on and never stops. Take the time to listen and enjoy each era. "Shit Ain't Over".

I had THE PLEASURE of meeting Dr. Funkenstein & Parliament in person at a hotel I Managed in 2010 all of them who was on tour then they were SUPER CHILL. Invited Me to come in their rooms to chop it up with them & Blow Trees. They stayed at the Hotel for about a week.

Pure, unadulterated funk. That's what the P stands for. Avant garde funk. With Bernie Worrell, at the keyboards. When Junie Morrison came aboard later things got even more out. These players aren't afraid to take chances. Despite how loosely managed the Clinton crew was their charts were tight and highly organized. Clinton's a great and uniquely original singer, too. He shows his skills to the max here. - The man's iller than the illest.

I wish the their sound system had been a whole lot better for the back ground singers only for the most part the group as a whole were sounding like the original versions of the all of the classic hits. They were on point. Excellent Funk !!!!
