George Carlin is one of the most ignorant people I ever saw. You can't pick and choose about the religion topic and call it knowledge. Why would God need to show Himself to us while we living on earth? Then what faith is for??? Why would God get rid of all evil now?? earth is not Heaven. By the time is coming when good and evil will be separated forever. You want a place with no evil? Follow with Jesus to Heaven. Do you want proves that God exists? Me and billions other people experienced supernatural experiences (I saw a real demon in a haunted house, later I had a Holy Spirit touching me, I saw a Heaven for 2 seconds while I was sitting on my bed, there's billions people around the globe that saw Heaven and Hell, doctors know that their patients experience supernatural experiences, science today says that there's Devine being behind our inteligent design etc). So George Carlin was developed backwards. And for those that don't know what believe is, I'll tell you what it is: believe is having 99% proves that God exists. Its not 100% yet because we didn't met God face to face, but we see His finger prints all over this laboratory called universe. I pray for George Carlin to be in Heaven even though his in Hell right now and will not be in Heaven, but just in case, my prayer will help. And one more thing: God made Hell for devil and his angels, not for humans. God is kind enough to offer to us Heaven, to live with Him FOREVER. Why Hell exists and demons? Because everything God creates can't die; God creates life, not death. Amen?

Humans religious-cum-ritualistic behaviour from around the Middle Paleolithic era (45-200 thousand years ago). (According to Evolutionary Archaeologista). Humans to understand existence always thought of higher power and hence came religion. We can pick and choose our God, but that wouldn't have an effect on life only will keep our mind in hallucination. I myself don't concern praying or worship coz finally it come down to us. I’ve to this day never heard a religious person make a strong counter argument. Still had to go to catholic mass every Sunday till I was 16. I basically only went so I could play in the CYO basketball league. This man George Carlin did more to shape my world view than anyone in history. Followed closely by John Lennon, Carl Sagan and 1988-97 rap culture. Just Pre-9/11 = last great time to be in high school. 95’ 🎓

And I can think of literally trillions of snakes that never spoke, or hundreds of billions of non-Immaculate conceptions that required a sperm to fertilize an egg in order to produce a fetus, or half the other nonsense that was in that book of fairy tales that never happened. So yeah, no, disproving Catholic and Evangelical beliefs is NOT theoretical. It’s rational, provable and obvious to anyone that thinks the universe is older than around 6000-10,000 years.

@@Metacognition88 How is there MORE comfort in believing than there is in knowing? I don't believe in believing. I find comfort from knowing the actual truth and I'm not scared of not knowing something. I'm more frightened from having answers which MAY be wrong than I am from not knowing. At least if I'm willing to admit that I don't know a thing then that leaves room for investigation and scientific discovery but the instant you say "God did it" and reject and further investigation into the truth you are completely useless on the frontiers of knowledge, discovery and progress. In fact you are left in the dark with not knowing. Not knowing is the exact same thing as "faith" and it doesn't bring me any comfort. I'd rather walk the illuminated path of true knowledge than walk in darkness (in "faith"). Even IF there is a God I refuse to believe he/she/it/they gave us an intellect and then expected us to not use it & just believe everything we're told without any supporting evidence.

@@liquidbraino Here is why.. I am an atheist and have been since about 15 years old. I started attending church at a very young age and right around my mid-teens I started understanding how it was all bullshit and it was reinforced once I started doing my own investigation and discussing things with my pastor that he had no idea how to explain. Your pastor cannot continue to regurgitate the same explanation.. "god works in mysterious ways" each time a member of the church asks you a question you don't know the answer to. This is what caused me to research on my own in the first place and ultimately led to me becoming an atheist. Now that I know the truth, I am totally fine knowing when I die that is the end of my existence. I don't fear death whatsoever knowing there is no 'Afterlife" because once you die, all your thoughts and memories and emotions die with you. I agree with you that knowing the truth and accepting it has comfort in itself, however not everyone in my family shares my secular point of view. My grandmother is in her 80's and while she does not attend church every Sunday, she is still very much a believer in the christian god. She also has great moral values (even without her religious beliefs), but it definitely helps when she is left with a difficult decision to make having that background. She doesn't have an explanation for everything that happens in this world, but to her having faith is enough of an answer and that helps her sleep at night. My grandfather passed away about 5 years ago and we all miss him very much, especially her. I could explain my reasons for being an atheist to her and even show her some convincing videos that would make her question her belief in a higher power. Will it be enough to persuade her from believing in a christian god? I don't know.....there is a good possibility it could, I guess that depends on how strong her faith is. I love my grandmother VERY much and the last thing I want to do is make her doubt whatever time she has left on this Earth questioning her beliefs. When the time comes and she leaves this world she is looking forward to being re-united with her husband she misses every day. I will not take that from her just so she can have the "truth" about what really happens when we die. The real truth is we don't really know. It is my belief however that when we die, that is basically it. I am content knowing this information, I am also comfortable knowing what I believe to be the truth. My grandmother on the other hand would be devastated if she thought this was going to happen to her.

@@liquidbraino I know. The truth is more important even if it's not the way j would like it to be. Many religious people cant accept that once our life ends here we won't ever exist again and they don't want to even begin to accept it. No thanks. Religions probably started out with vague, “spiritual” beliefs, which just snowballed. Matty23 With your answer, I’m not sure if you agree with me or not. 😄 Believe, or don’t believe, or have no belief. It’s all fine with me. I’m not a religious person, especially in the ‘organized’ sense. But I do feel that something has contributed to bring me to where I am, where I was, and where I may eventually be. I don’t necessarily believe in A god (monotheism), but I do believe there is something, somewhere. I wrap my mind around it, and it always goes back to one thought: everything had to start from somewhere. Nothing can’t create something. So I try to find an inner peace, a sense of self, and a reason why I am ‘being’. All the while trying to be the best human being I can be to my fellow man. That is my ‘spirituality.’ Again, believe, or don’t believe, or have no beliefs. The beauty in it, is that nobody can say ‘you’re wrong!’ and have proof that you are, indeed wrong. Since man has walked the earth, literally nobody has definitive proof of what happens to us after we die. I find that intriguing! People claim, pretend, and use words like ‘faith’ to assure themselves they know. But they don’t. I hope I have many more years of life to go, but I’m sure as heck looking forward to see what’s on the other side when Im gone. Even if it’s nothing.

Matty23 instead of your answer having “probably”, you should take the time to research the origins of the ‘main religions’ before you dismiss the possibility of something being true. There is evidence, there is proof, you just need to be willing and open minded enough to find it.
