It so easy to get down on were humanity is TODAY. The beautiful side of creative potential of man thru the universal language of music shows here. Also the group is diverse showing we ALL can create beautiful things. Awesome, THANKS Stephen Skinner

Take note here people this ain’t “smooth jazz “ this is “PURE” jazz! This guy can play! I saw you play with Chris Bottie in Monterey a few years back and have followed you since. Thanks for your dedication to jazz.

I first heard you perform this at one of the summer Stanford Jazz Camps years ago, right after James Williams passed away and you gave a lovely tribute to him. This arrangement is one of my favorite and most memorable moments. I went to that camp specifically because you were one of the mentors that year. Thanks so much for the beauty you bring to the world!

Beautiful sounds and technical virtuosity! But was there a melody there? I'm glad I know the song because it wasn't easy to find.

Lots of people ask this question. The melody is very, very slow but I play it verbatim. Slow your ears down about 4x and you'll hear it :)

A typical example of an extremely virtuosic pianist indulging himself by completely burying a beautiful tune. Jerome Kern would never have recognized it here.

Not so; there are heavily elasticized, bent-out-of-shape fragments of it cropping up throughout. Even the three-note lick often used as an intro, in two chromatic keys, is there. I only noticed it near the END, repeated and strung out.
