These four lovely gentlemen are Geoff, Jeff, Joeph, ang Goff, sometimes accompanied by their distant relative Darryll. They are mainly responsible for everything in this video, including vocals, sound mastering, and editing. Unique timbre and range for sure.

Not only is Geoff all four voices, and all four actors, but he also creates the musical backing himself. This is his way of showing all the parts of the four or five part harmonies he writes. In fact he has a five octave tange, but likes to concentrate on his bass. HIs range is A0 to A#5. He's so good at interracting with his other selves (who of course are not even there when filming) that people often think he is four brothers..But no, it's all Geoff. He is his own backing group.

This was all Geoff. All 4 people you saw in the video were Geoff, so were all the voices you heard. Geoff doesn't do a cappella music on his solo channel. He is however in an a cappella group called VoicePlay, where he sings bass. Both Geoff and VoicePlay have a lot of music videos to pick from on their KZread channels, and they are all amazing. So just pick and choose to your hearts content, you will get to hear Geoff's wonderful bass voice in all of them 🙂

Welcome to the wonderful world of Geoff Castellucci. This was all sung by Geoff. He has an incredible 5 octave range. He is the bass singer for the acapella group VoicePlay. I have subscribed to hear more reactions for Geoff and hopefully VoicePlay. It is an amazing rabbit hole. enjoy.

It is sometimes hard for certain viewers to understand that a person’s channel isn’t just for the viewers but is also for the reactor. My husband also used subtitles for some movies because even with hearing aids any background noise - including music - made hearing dialogue harder. He too was a Viet Nam era Navy vet.

Enjoyed your reaction a lot! Geoff is my favorite bass singer among the big 3 a cappella groups, and I'm glad that he started his solo channel when the lockdown hit and VoicePlay couldn't tour or perform live - I can never have too much Geoff in my music! The 3 really low notes that Geoff hits in this video are all the same note, G1 - but he performs them in 3 different ways. The first one is a subharmonic, a technique Geoff has practiced for several years and become exceptionally good at using - you'll hear him using it in almost all of his solo work, and a majority of his bass work with VoicePlay. He's got a couple of videos on his channel that explain what he's doing and how to do it yourself. The second time Geoff sang the G1 it was all him, a full chest-voice note. That's getting close to his lower range for full chest - he's hit F#1 and F1 very occasionally, but I don't think he can hit them reliably. G1, on the other hand, is pretty consistent for him these days. The third time (at the end) Geoff hit the G1 again in chest voice, but let a lot of breath come through, rather than the normal full-vocal-fold closure style he generally uses. One of the things about Geoff's voice that I really like is that his lyrics are completely understandable, even when he's down at his lowest notes. So many basses (even good basses) get kind of "muddy" when they reach their limits, but Geoff is still very clear even at his deepest - you may have a hard time believing that he can sing that low, but you'll be able to understand what he's singing.

Yes, as I've aged I have very much increasingly relied on captions, so completely support your decision. By the way, Geoff's lovely wife Kathy, who serves as his production manager and the production manager of his accapella group, VoicePlay, was also a musical performer (they actually met because her father was Geoff's chorus teacher in high school). She and Geoff performed in lots of things together, including the 'Beetlejuice Graveyard Review' at Universal Stuidios in Florida. But she eventually had to give up singing due to severe hearing loss. Geoff has posted a video on his channel entitled "Hearing Loss (A True Story)" that details what happened. Anyway, both he and VoicePlay definitely try to make sure that they have captions available for their videos, and will occasionally slip in funny 'easter eggs' into them. I'm about ten years younger than you, and stumbled upon a VoicePlay video a little over two years ago, and was immediately blown away by Geoff's bass range. A lot of his covers are from songs from the 1950's through the 1970's, and most (but not all) involve him using 3 to 4 'clones' of himself to perform the songs, and I hope you will check out some more, and some VoicePlay covers as well. He does have an amazing bass voice, but can also sing extremely well in upper registers as well AND does his own arrangements (and for many years has done approximately half of the VoicePlay arrangements, they've just started having a 3rd member help with their arrangements this year).

You found my favorite singer. Geoff has an incredible talent. He can sing super low and go very high. He does all the voices and he usually clones himself on screen so you can see him sing it all.😊 His group is VoicePlay. When he does Acapella he will sing them. Geoff's wife has hearing issues he usually has little nuggets of info in the subtitles so it's always good to watch his videos with them.😊

Tim Foust is the bass singer for the group Home Free. He and Peter Hollens also have a video for this song, called Misty Mountains. I've seen several recommendations for Geoff's I See Fire. Peter Hollens has his own wonderful version of that song. He is the master of layering and this shows it. There is another a cappella group in Home Free's circle of friends called The Bass Gang. Four guys, all bass singers with amazing ranges, from 2 US states, the Czech Republic, and Egypt.

I'm 79 and hearing-impaired (too many hours on a RC-130). I appreciate the captions very much. For those who don't (and are not mentally-impaired) the "CC" button at the bottom of your video will turn it off. The Geoff's in this performance are all really great. He has (they have) several more and they are all amazing, with first-class production quality.

Fans of Geoff and the acapella group he sings with, Voiceplay, always recommend that you keep the closed captions on. Geoff's are very descriptive and occasionally humorous. Voiceplay's have those aspects as well, but not as often. We also recommend that you watch at least until the patron list scroll begins, it ain't always over when you think it is. I subscribed as soon as I saw Geoff's name pop up. I am going right over to you google doc to put in a request or 14. God bless you, and thank you for your service.

(I'm 71) As you mentioned Home Free, allow me to mention that their bass singer Tim Foust also has his own channel, and you'll find some interesting things to listen to there also. Tim loves Doo Wop from the 50s and 60s.

Geoff and his clones. Next should be his group VoicePlay that he is a founding member of. He also did a second Hobbit song with the same four dwarfs. I See Fire. Geoff is very aware of using subtitles as his wife Kathy is losing her hearing. He even made a video about it. Then sometimes be puts funny stuff in.

I really enjoyed your reaction- thanks! I appreciate you and am now a new subscriber to your channel. As the other Voice Players (fans of Voice Play) have stated in the comments, Voice Play and solo Geoff Castellucci are very different than the other acapella groups and often called the theater kids of acapella music, they are from Orlando Florida and all members and their frequently featured guests have worked as performers for Universal and/or Disney theme parks, and have no record label or contract by choice doing all of their own production and maintaining complete control of their creative expression. As others have told you in the comments, Geoff's wife, their production manager, is hearing impaired as other members and featured guests for Voice play have family members that are deaf or hearing impaired. The captions are very important to them and recommended (they include surprise "Easter eggs" in the video and captions), and put a lot of attention into costumes, lighting, and theatrical aspects of their videos to enhance the enjoyment of hearing impaired fans (you may want to check out Geoff's video on his channel about loss of hearing on your own). One of Voice Play's members left the group and is active duty military right now but comes back to sing with them as a frequently featured guest when he is on military leave ( J. None) and different featured guests fill in on the other videos. Thanks for your service and I look forward to more of your reactions to Voice Play and solo Geoff Castellucci!

Most voiceplayers will recommend you turn on subtitles because they sneak fun easter eggs or extra info into them sometimes so you are good with us to have them on. I am so glad you have reacted to Geoff, and you should definitely check out Voiceplay. They have covers for every genre under the sun and are known as the #theatrekids of acapella although they know how to do serious videos when the song warrants one, like their cover of Nothing Else Matters by Metallica. I especially love their theatrical covers and recommend Oggie Boogie's Song from Nightmare Before Christmas or Valhalla Calling. Can't wait to see you react to more.

I’m going to add to your comments about captions - at least for Geoff’s videos it is often a good idea to leave the captions on as he likes to write them himself instead of depending on the automatic captions. His wife has profound hearing loss and so he recognizes how important captions can be. And yet he also likes to sneak in a funny extra comment at times - something like ‘super duper low note’. Also want to say that I appreciate your speaking about prayer and especially appreciate you including your listeners on your list. I must admit that I had not thought about praying for those I often watch on KZread. Thank you for the idea. I will add them to my list and subscribe to you to watch your journey through Geoff’s channel (and I hope his group VoicePlay’s channel as well)
