basically banks are evil because they're ruthless collectors of money and they've found the easiest way to get money is to scam people. especially poor people who can't maintain min balances (fee) or who ever overdraft (fee:for every day you're still negative, fee for every purchase u still make, often without notifying you) and my job boiled down to getting poor people to increase their investment in a huge company that only wanted to leech their resources from them. oh and also the one i worked at basically bullied their employees into donating a percentage of their paycheck to United Way which is a scam basically, which puts most donations towards giving their execs a high salary instead of passing it on to actual volunteer orgs like they say. and if you don't donate you're 'not a team player' and labeled difficult and not considered for promotions, etc

Do this! Maybe not with that exact wording, but when the interviewer asks if you have any questions for them, try things like, “how would you describe the working culture?”, “what tools does business give to help their employees succeed?”, “are there opportunities for progress in role/company?”, and “what is the performance review process like at the company?” The first and last questions especially help give you a sense of this is the kind of company you actually want to work for.

I recently learned that a better question to ask re: office culture is to be more specific about what you want to hear. Asking about their work culture is vague and they can easily skim over any bad parts. Instead, ask things like, can you describe a time you experienced a difficult employee and how did you handle that. You can ask about a time they had to provide constructive feedback. Or a time they had to resolve a workplace conflict. Or if they do employee surveys and what solutions did they implement. Etc. etc. Basically, the same line of behavioral questions they ask of us, we should also ask of them. Then we will truly know how they interact with employees and what values or principles they stand behind. Like, are their values on their website all for show or do they actually live those values? It also gives us a sense of how they solve conflicts, provide feedback, etc. I’ve only ever had one HR person tell me the truth about the company. How a few years back it was in a bad state but that they’ve since made changes that greatly improved morale and workplace culture. I was impressed by the honesty.

Pro tip: When the interview is "over" ask them a question.. "What do you believe it the main issue in this establishment?" Or "Amongst the employees what is the most common reason for termination" They will tell you exactly what's wrong with the job. "Lacked devotion/Couldn't keep up with job flow" = this job is hard and frustrating. "Can't find good workers!" = high turnover, which is usually a sign of bad management. Don't be ashamed to ask these questions. You're expected to work there, you should know what you're walking into.

I mean, a manager at McDonald's is quite different than a manager of scientists at NASA. In the state that I've been abandoned in, the managers are abusive. I'm a boomer. Many decades ago I asked "how much will I make? (That was a big no no though it was stupid to not ask!) 'when can I take my first vacation? How many sick days do I get? ". I got the job. Later I asked why her response was " I figured you must of had another interview and knew you'd get the job. I was trying so hard to not laugh. All of your answers through the entire interview were hilarious! I knew you'd fit in. Plus I had your resume I knew your skills were what we needed. " To this day I still laugh. I stayed there for many years.

I don't know who needs to hear this but you're allowed to ask them questions about the workplace, job, pay, benefits, etc. The interview is not just for them to question you! 😁

This is correct. I honestly don't know why young people or anybody feels like they can not ask questions. Of course you can. Even 100 years ago you can ask the business questions. These kids talk like they have no say when they do. 🤣
