The fact Seikoo was the quietest player on this team is kinda scary, itachi is exactly where he was at KC and Juicy has elevated. Reminds me of the og bds, pure teamwork perfection

If you do this in champ, you will almost definitely lose. Your teammates will never be in the right spot to react to you losing a 50. They'll end up under or in front of the ball more often than not cause "gotta go fast".

I’ve always wondered why so many people call it “winning” a 50/50 when you hit the ball through someone just for the other team to usually get possession…. Winning a 50/50 should mean gaining/keeping possession of the ball

This is basically a big chunk of how I play because I'm mechanically inconsistent and have slow reactions and recoveries so I've learnt how to give free possession to my teammates. I wonder if my friends notice how many more opportunities and passes they get when playing with me haha. I'm okay being the playmaker. (6k+ hours, 30k+ games btw)

I thought a couple years ago at the world championship when Itachi was playing with Aztral and Noly that they as a team had the best passing out of everybody. Was kinda sad they broke up because it took them a while to hit that synergy. Fells like Itachi became more of a shooter than a passer last season. Hope he keeps being an assist player, definitely at the top of the convo for best passer in RLCS right now.

While you can clearly see juicy lean back as to not hit the ball, it doesn’t look like that was the intentional plan. It looks like he wants to do push the 50 through but can’t because he runs out of boost right at the end, so instead of 50/50ing the ball into the corner he leans back at the last second, but I think if he had more boost he would’ve kept boosting to get on the other side of the ball and kill the 50. Just a thought and personal opinion on that one specific goal.

  • @deaksneaks

I agree on the first one with Atomic as he was 0, but the second one which Itachi presumably calls the fake on he has 13 so could have tried to 50. Though saving that 13 might have been the main plan, but even then I’d argue if he’s deliberately saving that then he’s also planning on avoiding that 50

A description of Itachi's mindset in these games (And Gentlemates as a whole) Challenges are almost never about blasting the ball past the opponent or even cleanly beating them to the ball. More often, and almost always, challenges are about taking possession away from the other team and getting it to your team. Sometimes you're challenging just to limit the opponents options (Ex. Forcing the opponent to fake a flick so that your teammate only has to deal with a low shot instead of a high shot). Very seldom are you the last man and have to 1v3. Normally you're buying time and putting the ball in a position your teammates can work with. Sometimes even flying past the ball and not making contact will limit the opponents options enough that their play becomes a pass to your teammate, plus you're upfield for when your teammates get the ball. So often people at SSL think it's like American football - keep pushing forward - instead of keeping possession, or even conditioning your opponent.

This is stuff i do in C2 and it works very well. My mechanics are bad but this + chasing can really mess up an opponent. Chase to make them feel they need to win the 50 hard and put up pressure + do this = easy ball for your mate. I just need my mate to do something usefull then or return the favor (Will not happen much sadly). Add in demos and you're golden. Also expect to be followed by them trying to demo you back, giving even more space for your mate
