That is really kind of you! I appreciate your kind thoughts and hope that the channel will serve you well! Keep singing! Jeff
I'll be damned! I've been singing my whole life and in madrigals and church praise teams, and thought I was an alto, but the warm ups were too low for me so I tried the mezza soprano and it fits perfectly.
Without any further ado at 0:35 😉 Thanks Jeff! 🐯

Why thank you! I appreciate that! Jeff
I haven't sung in a long time and this not only helped me warm up, my listening skill was also challenged. Thank you!
HE IS BACC thank you. I like singing but Im too shy to take clases or sing in front of people. So practicing at home is nice
Ive been staring at the lava lamp for 12min-

I am tempted to make a 'lava lamp' warm up where after my intro I just train the camera on that. Could be cool. I'd have to make the patterns really lava-ey somehow.... Thanks for watching! Jeff

@@JeffRolka lava sounding warm ups? Come on creativity !! I'm here for it!! 🙃🤟🙏🖤
I'm an alto who sometimes sings tenor (when the virtual choir gives me a choice). I'm finding that doing the alto gentle warmup and then this one helps a lot with placement of the higher notes.

I do the same thing
i found this very useful as a Tenor ❤
I love your videos. Always sing with you before gigs. Thank you so much!

Nice! Vocalizing in the green room! Best, Jeff
Being a guy this warm-up suits perfectly to me Jeff because my voice is more on the feminine side and this also helps before singing them high notes! Thank you Jeff🤗
Recovering from a stroke and using this in standing for breath control, standing tolerance and balance ... and also working on my enunciation and facial muscle strength on left side. Ty for you videos.

What do i do when i do this and something in the back of my throut like tightens up or so
@JeffRolka

Evaluate your engagement. Sounds as if you're gripping a bit at the vocal fold. Hard to say without hearing you though! Best! Jeff

I find doing some lip trills can loosen up when I'm tightening and am not aware of doing it.
Ad on this one too
@JeffRolka

Thank you! Should be all set. Specifically we're talking about mid roll ads, not ads at the beginning or end. Those help me keep this thing going, and while may be annoying, aren't going to disrupt you in the middle of a scale. Thank you for letting me know! Thank you! Jeff

@@JeffRolka oops sorry! I guess I got comment happy!
I have had a problem with a gravelly or gargle-like sound in my singing for about 5 years now. I found when doing this exercise that the “E” vowel is when this problem shows it’s ugly head. Can you help me understand this?
@JeffRolka
3 жыл бұрын
Interesting that it's only one vowel. I could speculate, but there are a variety of reasons why this could be. I would suggest you get a lesson, either with someone like me, or someone in your area. It is almost certainly an issue of issue of vocal fold adduction (the amount and force of closure) but whether it's too much or too little, it could be either. There is also the question of how airflow is being used. Best, Jeff
