Gentaro's testicles are invisible soon.(gorilla information sharing)｜Momotaro family｜Kiyomasa too

When male gorillas become adults, their testicles are hidden inside their bodies. In other words, they are not visible from the outside. Gentaro's testicles are still faintly visible, but they will gradually be buried inside his body. In fact, the testicles of Momotaro, the father, are not visible.
Kiyomasa at the Higashiyama Zoo is also losing his testicles as he gets closer to his age.
When the testicles will become completely invisible depends on the individual, but it is not so far off. Let's observe Gentaro and Kiyomasa's bodies while they are still young!

MOMOTARO & GENKI Family
Father MOMOTARO ♂(2000/7/3)
He is hesitant in new situations and is a loner.
His father died before he was born, and he had never spent time with a silverback.
He had already turned into a silverback by the time he was 10 years old.
He is struggling with unfamiliar child-rearing.
MOMOTARO's father is BIJU.
MOMOTARO's mother is MOMOKO.
Mother GENKI ♀ (1986/6/24)
She is 14 years older than Momotaro and has a role to support the whole family mentally.
She has had a tumultuous and eventful life.
She has returned to her birthplace, Kyoto City Zoo.
She had never been blessed with a baby but after meeting Momotaro,
she had two sons.
She is a very maternal female gorilla.
GENKI's father is MAC.
GENKI's mother is HIROMI.
First son GENTARO, male (2011/12/21)
He was separated from his mother Genki soon after he was born.
Genki's milk production was not very good.
He was raised by his keeper for his first10 months.
Because of this, he is very fond of humans.
His face is so expressive, and everyone enjoys watching him.
Second son KINTARO ♂ (2018/12/19)
He is just very strong-willed and independent.
He has big eyes and long eyebrows.
The way he plays a lot with his brother Gentaro makes everyone smile.
We can't wait to see what kind of gorilla he'll become!

Gentaro is such a good boy ♥️ No comparison to Kiyamosa’s behavior, Shabani and Nene’s son…..But, He has always seemed lonely to me . I hope and pray whomever makes decisions for his future, allow him to have his own family🙁🦍♥️

Momotaro always seems lonely to me. He hasn’t learned how to make connections with other gorillas growing up. I don’t get as strong a sense of that same loneliness in Gentaro but it might be a thing as he matures, ie behaviourally standoffish in imitation of dad Momotaro maybe. I think Gentaro is feeling his leadership oats and detaching himself from the troop emotionally at this point as might be nature for blackbacks his age who strike out on their own in the wild. To me the lonely gorillas who I always feel a bit badly for are Momotaro, Amahoro (female Grauer gorilla at Belgian Zoo), and Asante (another female) at Twycross Zoo UK. The gorillas that usually strike me as lonely tend to be the “third wheel” or “maiden aunt” females low on the troop’s totem pole. Rarely a silverback seems lonely to me (except for Monta at Chiba who lives alone). Momo is an exception because he lives with companions and is the troop leader as silverback, but still always seems lonely and it’s because of his lack of socializing during his upbringing. I’d also say Toto at Ueno seems lonely to me sometimes too, but to a lesser extent as Momoko’s children really adore her so she has their companionship and attention often. Argh I hate to see lonely gorillas. Love them so much I hate to think of them having a moment of unhappiness! 🦍♥️

He lonely because mom doesn’t show him special affection and he wants that because she introduced him to her that way.

Yes, They sure did……With each of their difficult backgrounds and not exactly the ideal enclosure, Momotaro & Genki gave the world two exceptional male Gorillas and for that they deserve the utmost dignity and respect.
Gentaro looks healthy he’s just about ready to rumble and roll 😂😂😂❤❤❤

Hasn't it? I'm not ashamed to say I look at Gentaro now and my eyes get misty - already miss that sweet little face of a young Gentaro with those soulful eyes. What are we going to do, seasons?

@@Charlotte-r me too….. I want so much for Gentaro to have the best life as a Silverback, but I’m afraid that he might be sent somewhere we won’t have access to see him on a regular basis like we do now and I still want to be able to watch over him so I know he is alright !

I didn't know about this trait in gorillas either. It would help determine a gorilla's age.
The muscles on Gentaro's back are becoming so prominent. He will make a really good husband I wish he could be with Annie as she is always playful and not mean. Gentaro looks like Genki so much. Thank you for sharing. Oh!!! I noticed the water was off in the little pond.xx

I always said Annie and Gentaro are beyond perfect match, both raised 1st couple years by human and both share advanced characteristics. Them meeting eachother I feel may be more hectic than Momo and Genki.
Gentaro is such a wonderful gorilla ❤.

??? Are you referring to the very conveniently (or not) placed smudge on the viewing glass? Because that was not placed there.
Gentaro looks like a well developed young adult. He is filling out nicely especially his back, chest, and h aunches. He's going to silver very nicely like his dad. It ha been a pleasure watching him and Kiyomasa blossom and mature.

Oh! Another observation, I have noticed that feral gorillas have an almost childlike look in their eyes. The Momotaro Family’s eyes are more similar to feral gorillas’ eyes than most other captive gorillas’ eyes - which to me are suspicious and angry looking. I wanted to point that out. Japanese zoos take a lot of flak but this troop looks calm and well adjusted.
This hidden testicle thing might explain why a female, Sully, in an American Zoo recently gave birth to a baby and keepers were surprised because they’d always thought Sully (who is about 8 years old) was a male! I am unsure how this misidentified gender in Sully went on for almost a decade but she revealed herself to be female when she bore a gorilla baby! Maybe it’s the hidden testicles thing that explains how Sully could pass eight years with no one figuring out she was female! Still a bit puzzled by that one. You’d think it would be revealed in medical checks by vets etc. anyhoo. Sully is healthy and well with a new baby no testicles in hiding, turns out 😂. 🦍♥️

Yes, I read the news about Sully and her newborn baby, but I take this story with a pinch of salt. 🙂It's okay, I accept the Sully's present zoo staff didn't have the reason to check for sex organs and didn't recognize her sex at the age of 4 when she arrived from Milwaukee Zoo. But male infant gorillas have definite and visible genitals as we can often see in the case of little gangsters Jabali and Ringo, at least they could have some suspicion why "Sulaiman"'s sex organs were never seen.... 😉

I was surprised by that too. It would literally mean they aren't bothering to examine them the way they should. I thought part of the relocation gave consideration to their gender; so placing a growing "male" in with an established silverback could have spelled disaster.

@@latralla4577 Interesting.. I visit Milwaukee, and they had the family group Suliman, Zahara, Cassius, and the mother (forgot name).. those parents died of a water related bacterial issue. So they went to Columbus while we got Oliver and 2 females in Milwaukee once they fixed the issue. I do not remember a "Sully".... ?

@@TheFlashyWeasel Sully is at The Columbus zoo about 150 miles from me. Yep, she had been identified as Male and then one morning, everyone shows up for work and Sully is holding a newborn baby 🤷🏼♀️

@@KathyJo. Crazy...how could they not know? On a related related matter, we got what we thought was a male sloth to mate with our female. Lawrence became Jennifer Lawrence... lol.. so she went to another zoo and now we have a "male". 🫰

He clearly states in the captions his private area is being covered by his hips and backside fur. His parts are still there....
I’m thinking they disappear to protect them. In the wild, fights and possible injuries. I’m assuming the brow bone and flat ears are for the same purpose. Baby boy is growing up.❤

Gentero was such a wonderful big brother to Kintero. He loves him still and I love that about him. Will miss him terribly bad if he leaves from here. Wish they would bring his future bride to him and them have their own space

Maybe I’m biased but I think that Momotarou and Gentarou have above average looks. Their fur is always well groomed and they have nice proportions. The “slim” gorillas with very little fur (often mangy looking) look more like bonobos to me. I think they’re creepy!

I agree, momo is the most handsome Silverback. Gent not to far behind! The shabani family is hard to watch, some of them are skinny and tall and look a little to human like, creeps me out too!

Are they going to move him soon? I can’t imagine they’d want him to be with Momotaro very much longer. Seems to me the clock is ticking on that one. Have you heard anything? I would think now is the time to start making plans.

Gentaro still has boyish qualities in his face and actions with his younger brother. But is all Silverback in his body’s development. I hope the 2nd level goes well and the family will be happy and safe.

Not any concrete announcements yet. Several zoos in Japan are supposed to construct or renovate their enclosures. In terms of space for Gentaro, it’s not a big deal. Finding a partner is ,,,, ???????

No, it is not a better idea.
I like these gorilla channels but every few videos on each one is about something I don't want to see. Don't want to see momo and genki or Kiyo and whoever mating. Don't want to see gorillas instinctually mounting with no mating. Don't want to see vicious fights unless there is something important about their outcomes. Like separation. Don't want to see a video about Gentaros magic disappearing testicles. I just want to see the families enjoying life and caring about each other.
