When you have had decades of political elite getting political traction by promoting a sense of victimhood, promoting fear and hatred of the people you occupy, and lie about the history of occupation, you eventually create a population that mostly behave this way. Search for IDF T-Shirt 2 kills for one shot and find a website for a business in Israel that sells T-Shirts that show a pregnant Arab with a crosshair centered on her belly. They also sell a T-Shirt with a crosshair centered on a child with caption "smaller is harder". The IDF does not sanction these T-shirts but the fact that such a business even exits there tells you how people can be radicalized. Israeli policies radicalized not just the Palestinians but also their own.

As an American soldier I have to tell you this is also very true about the war in Iraq. So many of my battle buddies recorded videos of very inhumane acts. Soldiers kept photo albums of unalived people in ways as if they were showing off like a hunter and his trophy deer. I remember an image I saw of a mother and father and two young children. They looked very distraught. The soldier that shared this with me told me how they raped the woman and then unalived the whole family. I couldn't hold back my distaste. I will add, most of the American soldiers just believe they are liberating the world from suppression. Most of the soldiers I know are brainwashed in endocrine and propaganda from birth. Most of the Americans I know are against all this. What I don't understand from the bs in Iraq, just how badly we were lied to about the very reason we were ever their. The Iraq War, there videos and images were in private and not public. All this is right in everyone's faces. Why is this still happening months later and when is it going to end? With truth in everyone's sight, how do people justify their support in it? I was born Christian and in biblical scripture it is written that we will know them by their fruits. I don't understand why so many choose the blindfolds and I never will. If you sit in silence you are just as guilty as if you pulled the trigger yourself. Watermelons for everyone! Peace and love

I agree that the US should stop funding this completely. However, America literally can’t afford healthcare until their population loses weight. Literally. Because of the incredibly weight of our population (I’m American) there would be more people taking than putting into a single payer healthcare system. I decided to check in on a boy I went to school with, in South Africa, who moved to Israel and joined the Israeli army a few years ago, he made a joke video as the IDF blew up a building in Khan Younis and posted it on Instagram, trying to build clout off of his active participation in genocide. He was laughing, while people were dying. I'm horrified, it's sickening. Their lack of remorse is the worst part of all of this. They are massacring people in cold blood. The power of systematic far-right indoctrination is scary. This is a humanitarian catastrophe and we're here witnessing it happen, in real time.

thanks for posting this - hard to watch but necessary to understand the horrific degree to which these thugs have abandoned their humanity

What is more upsetting about the actions of the Israeli government and the IDF is that their ancestors had gone through these inhuman and sinful treatment and now they are doing the same thing on others. One of the main reason behind this is the support from US and European countries. And then these are the countries who are the first to claim that they are the flagbearers of human rights and equality and condescend others about protecting the same.

Being American, it is very difficult to play the moral high ground, but as an American I was embarrassed, ashamed, and disheartened by our actions in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Abu Ghraib. Still we have a judicial system that dealt with these individuals. We should have dealt with our leaders too; who allowed this because now we set a precedent for our allies and adversaries to act in the same way. We should try IDF soldiers at the least, like the UN did after the Bosnian War. Genocide is Genocide.

I know young men traumatized over their time in Iraq and Afghanistan. Guys who enlisted because they wanted money for college or their job prospects were bleak. Guys who are now alcoholics or worse. I used to think my dad never taught me anything about the military. He was Army for two decades. It tuns out, he taught me a lot. Tactics, mostly. Your experience must have been... interesting. I believe you're referring to the Office of Special Investigations from the USAF. The main problem with organizations like that is demographics. That bias shapes the intel they transmit, thus shaping policy. Objectionable policies that are mimicked by glove nations. The USA tortured in Iraq and Afghanistan. Israel is doing the same. Israel is just another glove on the fist of America. Saddam had been a glove for the USA against Iran. Are you seeing how the USA is primarily involved with shaping war and peace? The real problem is the USA.
