There are many genocides that have been covered up. If you control media you control what people learn. When we say media it means movies, books, games, school books, music, cartoons, language or what exposure to information that forms our paradigms. That's why it's said that we live in a matrix. The another way they hide many genocides is to change the names in history so that you don't know what you are to look for to find it. People nearby will know so they create false news/stories for the countries farther away so that you think that they are the perpetrators or dangerous and evil. What is saving us now is they couldn't control social media as well as they hoped. They control mainstream and media was easily regionalized meaning you were only going to hear what they wanted. But social media is global and when they tried to control it people already having gotten used to getting more news just created other channels. They have another trick and that's confusing information and lies, lots of lies so don't just believe any. But you can find ways to verify things until you find trusted media. It's not always easy to verify information but you will get smarter as you expand your searches.

I forgot some of the things you look for to uncover hidden genocides. Nakba Mustamirra is actually what Palestine's genocide is called. It's been going on for at least 76 years. Nakba Mustamirra means ongoing castasphe. They are periodically killed but the media had different methods of hiding it that are failing now. Catastrophe from the word Shoah which is what the J Holocaust was originally called but in the 1950's the name was changed. Holocaust means sacrifice, catastrophe or genocide. Most Holocaust weren't actually named but were referred to as wars. They were periods of great losses of life were suffered and we were just given "reasons" like famines, plagues or wars. Terms like mass graves is also a hint.

In Italy we like to describe ourselves as “brava gente” (good people), but in reality in the first half of the twentieth century we committed mass exterminations and settler colonialism in Libya, and horrific war crimes in Ethiopia and Spain; during World War II, we committed war crimes in Yugoslavia, Albania and Greece, and we collaborated with the Germans in the genocide of the Jews. All of this can be found in books and some history documentaries, but very rarely in public discourse. And now the Italian government and mainstream media support Israel in its criminal policy in Gaza and the government has blocked funding to UNRWA. There are Italians who are protesting, but too few. Shame on Italy!

Definetly not forgotten here! Education about it was lacking (from a state pov) but countless privat groups are educating people about it with great help from descendants of victims

There is something uncanny about being encouraged to look back at this settler colonial history of Germany. It would have been revelatory had I in post-war Germany learnt about it at school. Just as I had to learn that in my hometown Ulm a concentration camp where mainly political prisoners sent on to Dachau concentration camp had been, years after I’d left Ulm, I think there is this deep shame looming over a people of horrific inhuman deeds committed in the name of furthering the interests of the colonial settler state. At least, public acknowledgment might indicate knowledge, let alone consciousness about it and offer some kind of humility. The genocide committed by the Germans on the Herero and Namaqua early in the 20th century lies further back, of course. Your programme here shows the fusion of settler and supremacy mentality. Germany has 0 land outside of Germany and has been paying developmental aid for decades. Its just that africans seem to be unable to actually use the money due to corruption and mismanagement. So all these crybabies in this comment section should read up on what actually happend after these events and finally accept that the germany that commited these crimes doesn´t exist anymore. In this case the German Empire hasn´t been around since 1918. Maybe Al Jazeera should rather report on the slavery taking place in their speher of influence other than digging up widely accepted facts. Germany owes Jews a separate land. Not only Germany, but the entirety of Europe should have united and designated a piece of land between Poland and Germany for a separate Jewish state. If u guys think this is exposing: France, Netherlands and Britain did this too, that's how imperialism works and is much more of a problem than just land x/y/z. Why is it allowed to take land where clearly people already live
