As a WVU fan I seen this coming 10 years ago. I'm being serious, early in his career he was obviously thrown into a bad situation in NY and clearly wasn't ready. Although he had flashes, just couldn't stop turning the ball over. Couldn't read the field well and didn't have a decent O-Line. Anyway this is the Geno all us WVU fans and Geno fans thought he could become. He was a top 5-8 QB in the NFL this year and made the Pro Bowl. I Know he had a year with the Giants and Chargers as well, but this is the Geno I thought he could be. Happy for him.

IMO this was Pete's greatest coaching job in Seattle yet. Getting this team to the playoffs and bringing Geno back from the dead were both pretty unexpected, he deserves a lot of credit. Feels like the beginning of something special again, just need better line play.

I couldn’t agree, more. When he traded Russell Wilson and decided to go with Geno, I thought, “REALLY?!” Then, doubled-down and had a great draft with Charles Cross, Kenneth Walker III and Tariq Woolen. Finished 9-8, which is not bad under the circumstances.

@@Bairom06 They gave him a chance, but he blew it. The NFL set up a private workout for him with 25 teams present at the Atlanta falcons facility. Colin wanted to bring his own camera crew and the NFL said no, so Colin decided to go to a high school instead to do his own workout where he filmed it.

Makes you feel good as a football fan to see someone go from a 1st round to backup to taking a team to the playoffs when no one saw them making it.

Long time Geno fan.I think I saw every game snap he took in college. I always felt if he got a chance he would eventually do what he has proven this year. Very proud of him. I always followed him over the professional years. Seahawks to the Super Bowl 2024.

The man had a fantastic season. I think he’ll be even better in 2023 with a full year and another full offseason as a starter under his belt along with the connection he has with his skill players and the chemistry they’ve built. Excited to watch him next season.

When I saw Geno's first TD pass of the season, I immediately thought "This dude's gonna have a surprise breakout year, isn't he?" And I'm very happy to see the hawks finally utilizing tight ends again. Dissly, Fant & Parkinson were a huge part of Geno's success this season.

Learned his craft and became awesome around 32 when he got a legit shot. I watched the plays he made in this video - so much better than Derek Carr. In my view, he's going to get paid 25 to 30 million next year. Is Seattle willing to pay that?

@@scvboy1 Franchise Geno Smith? No way. He has had exactly ONE good season and he's 32. Seattle would have to pay him $40 Million dollars with the tag. That's not happening. At $40 million dollars, he'd be as tradable as Derek Carr is at $40 million dollars. My question is if seattle wants to pay even $30 million dollars which is likely the market for a guy with huge question marks but had a really good year.

Heck of a year for Geno. Lots of young talent on the team, team has the 5th pick in the draft. Seattle has a bright future.

Absolute hidden talent at it's definition , amazing year for the man. Led the NFC in touchdown passes. The NFL in completion percentage. And was basically top 8 in every major QB metric. .. seemed like there was way more depth to his play than just some flukey breakout year. I think if Seattle nails the draft and maybe has a big acquisition in the off-season.. they will be a power house in the next two years

Like 50 Cent said(paraphrasing)"It never happens on your time and you when you expect it to, it happens when it's supposed to happen." Geno Smith's season is a prime example of that sentiment. The fact his story went like this makes it all the more special. He was a legit top 5 NFL QB this season after all he's been through. Don't be surprised if he takes them to the NFC title game next year if they have a good offseason.

In just 1 year, Geno Smith went from many football fans surprised to learn he was even still in the league, to a Pro Bowl starter that was Top-5 in the league in Passer Rating, who led the Seahawks to a winning season and a playoff berth. Hope he wins Comeback Player Of The Year, too. He's a MUCH better quarterback than the terrible teams he's been on most of his career have made him look.

He’s had to learn from the School of Hard Knocks a few times in his career, but it looks like it’s all coming together for him. Now they have JSN to put in the slot with Lockett and DK outside. This offense looks scary.

Geno throws one of the prettiest balls in the NFL. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him throw anything but a tight spiral.

The way geno threads the ball in the middle JSN is gonna be a top tier wide receiver next year watch.

Even though we lost in a ugly game this was a great season for the hawks and thanks geno and always Go Hawks!

Such a fun season. Seattle has a lot of work to do on defense but this offense was impressive.

Not even a Seahawks fan. But Geno played lights out this season for you guys. He definitely earned a shot to start next season.

Geno surprised a lot of people last season. This team may cause a LOT of people headaches in 2023. He’s got a young team, and obviously, their confidence is extremely high. They clearly believe in his leadership. You get a bunch of young guys and their old general leading them, and it’s could be like a boulder rolling downhill. They’re probably gonna be a lot better than 9-8 this year once they shore up their run defense.

Pay the man. Hes proven he can win games with Seattle, I think this is the best place for him to succeed. Give him a 3 year contract laden with performance incentives to keep him hungry. Shore up the D esp the run defense. Find someone at center to compete and some depth at RB. We have the pieces at WR and TE that we need, Geno can make the throws. Fix the D and this team can compete.

People who say don’t resign him just watch some of the throws windows he’s hitting especially vs saints/chargers

To go from possibly top 5 pick to a 10 win team and he was a HUGE reason love to see it and I think Pete Carrol deserves credit as well bc this team has a beautiful future with a very young core and a boat load of Draft picks
