However, as Jerry Kibbe stated, when you have two ( 2) starting players on the bench, it is hard to win games in otherwords, all your fingers on your hands do not have the same length. If two (2) starters of South Carolina (SC) get hurt, I do not think they will be ranked number One in the country. Yes SC has some good bench players, but they are as good as the starters - that is why they are on the bench. Three (3) UCONN players are hurt and are on the bench; I am surprised that UCONN Women's Basketball is in the top 10. Nobody is complaining and whining. Dawn was referring to Geno AND it's been happening to her team for quite some time. Dawn had a right to defend her team. She has to keep her team locked in. That said, Geno is casting aspersions at thr Gamecocks, because UConn isn't as dominant as there were in their heyday. Ok, Baylor, South Carolina, Stanford, and Notre Dame have all won it and Geno is desperate for a title. He's right that UConn is going to win the title again, but the game has evolved... it's a more physical and athletic game... the women's game isn't just people shooting wide open threes and taking it up the backdoor like it used to be...I'd like to see Ayana Patterson play more for UConn. She is a player who, along with Edwards can play very physical. Patterson needs experience. Right now she is raw and it's gonna look bad, but Patterson can dunk... and when she hones her game UConn will have a little more down low... to go along with Azzi Fudd when she returns. Geno is too great of a coach to be a crybaby. When he wins from physical play (Baylor couple yrs ago) he says nothing or he'll say that's just the way the game was played...well "what's good for thr goose is good for the gander." When you lose, keep the same energy as win ur players "roller derbied" Carrington to go to the Final Four.

Geno has no reason to reach out to Dawn Staley for comments that all coaches make at one time or another. Unless I missed it, I haven't seen where Staley hasn't reached out to BYU for cancelling a home and home over an alleged racial slur that has not neen proven it was said.

I like Staley as a coach, but she's totally wrong on this If you go back to last years NCAA tournament, the physical SC team got more foul shots, sometimes double the foul shots of every team they played! In last years final which SC beat UCONN by 15, SC the more physical team got 22 more foul shots! Has there ever been such a discrepancy in foul shots in a Championship game? So if that sounds like picking on SC. so be it, have the refs call the game fair!

Concussions are very serious. You know that. We’re talking about the implications for Caroline for the rest of her life. As for Azzi and Paige, it’s hard to even think it, but there is a chance that these enormously talented and fun to watch young women may be injury prone. Let’s hope not.

Yeah I get the feeling they are a bunch of prima donnas. Remember the days when you just rubbed some dirt on it and kept going? You breathe on UConn players now and they are out for the season or bitching about the refs. Has UConn ever had a more inconsequential pair of #1 recruits than Bueckers and Fudd? Remember when Paige and Azzi were gonna be the next USA Olympic team back court? The next Bird and Taurasi? LOL they'll be lucky if they ever win a title and score 1000 points in their college careers.
