That's why I love Genesis. You get to see peak Ultimate, AND peak Melee at the same time.

As a melee player Im very happy to see both smash games on the same channel, feels like theres a bit too much hostility sometimes.

Amazing recap video , caught all the hype bits of the matches , added one of the best soundtracks to elevate the matches , insightful commentary , captured the best of GX , all in all you cooked

This is one of the best smash channels and by far the best tournament recap channel!

I think this is a great way to get more Ultimate players into Melee. Please keep going!

I really like these introductions of their runs so far. Maybe you could make the content in the background from those earlier sets, than you don't show things twice.

I was rooting for aMSa, those losers finals and grand finals were a roller coaster of emotions

If I had a nickel for every time Leffen entered a genesis X top 8 from winners only to lose his next two sets, i'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

aSMa is the reason i play yoshi in ult def one of the most entertaining players to watch imo

Hey Rister speaking’s on that point of the top 8 seeds being mostly top 8 seeds why do you do melee’s top player are more consistent then ultimate’s?

I’m no expert, but from what I know it boils down to this, Ultimate’s meta is matchup reliant while in Melee you can win anything with any viable character as long as you’re good enough. In Melee, you have more options at a given time than in ultimate due to the game’s universal tech. Therefore, the game will always favor who’s playing better instead of who’s playing the better character. Ultimate, on the other hand, has a lot of stupid top tiers. Steve, Sonic, and Game & Watch all have very one-dimensional game plans, and they straight up invalidate many characters. Plus, Melee’s skill floor is a lot higher than Ultimate, so it takes a lot of effort to become proficient in the first place.

Game has been played for a lot longer than Ult, a lot of these players have been playing since before Ult even released so have a large amount of knowledge in the game, in addition Ult did get big changes for certain characters that threw people off, thirdly there's so many characters in ult that it's almost impossible to learn every matchup to the same degree so you will probably lack in some areas. It helps that Melee has really good online so one can actually play people in specific matchups they don't like even if they can physically be at a tournament

It’s kinda interesting how the meta of melee has changed from just jigglypuff, fox, and marth to now yoshi and shielk added into competitive melee. The tournaments results was different from ultimate because the number one seed won the tournament while the 12th seed at ultimate won that tournament. I think the meta is more healthy than utimate because there is no chracters like Steve and it’s not a game that people can really purchase anymore now people would have to find weekly’s near them to even get a chance to play melee unless they have the console that has melee as one of its games.

Most people play on slippi so if you have a pc/labtop hell even a steam deck you can play melee even on a windows xp OS

@@agustinspiegel4313 Just because they have no top tier representation doesn't mean the characters above them are broken, or at least not broken like, say, Steve. ALso, as clone mentioned, the only odd one out there in notable placement is Mario, as both Samus (morse and Swooper) and Ganon (Mekk) have high level players. There's Luigi (who at least has Eddy MExico) as well, plus dr. Mario (who I keep wanting to say has Junebug but there's somebody else who's name I'm blanking on; Junebug used to play doc before switching to dk.)

Insane copium, he is very much a good player at Strive and when he played was pretty good at DBFZ, he gets very salty about losing and gives up easily with shit but lets not act like he's some 2-2er beating 0-2ers

I Really enjoy melee content aswell. would be interested in more. When Leffen plays :)
