General Colin Powell (6/7/12)

General Colin Powell
Former U.S. Secretary of State; Former Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff; Author, It Worked for Me: In Life and Leadership
In conversation with Dan Ashley, News Anchor, ABC 7 TV; Member, Commonwealth Club Board of Governors
Throughout his decades of service to the country, General Powell has kept his private life out of the limelight. Now, in his new book, It Worked for Me: In Life and Leadership, Powell is opening up to reveal the important principles that guided his journey from being the son of Jamaican immigrants to becoming chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the first African-American secretary of state. He will reveal the foundations for achievement and leadership that worked for him and can help make others' dreams come true, too.

THANK YOU GENERAL COLLEN POWELL FOR YOUR MILITARY SERVICE AND YOUR TIME TO SHARE LEARDERSHIP AND WISDOM, Many fall short in life and complain and excuses. I believed the worse thing that can happen is nothing!!!! No one is born with leadership and responsibility but is done by example, mentoring and failing. My question to many is are you willing to continue. I believe action speaks louder than words. If you give someone in need a loaf of bread you satisfy the hunger feeling for that time, moment and day but if you TEACH how to make more bread than the teaching has great value. It mutiplys 1x1=2x2=4x4=$%$%$%$%. General your book has value, wisdom, comprehension, reasoning but my question to many people is are you willing to continue???? Life is a journey and everyone is created unique.

their experience, inner power, (aka selfdiscipline) are purely exemplary. Im not a High school or uni student, but I would really want to attend his leadership school at CC.

This is an example of why generals are generals. Gen. Powell makes it clear that being in high office demands a balanced approach, and never losing sight of the simple fact that the opposition or the enemy is a human being. Another valid point he makes is that far more can be acheived through love, kindness and diplomacy than can ever be acheived by war and weapons. As is my contention, and his, the greatest threat to world stability is unemployment. The scourge of civilisation.

Thank you so much. The generals are protecting our Declaration of Independence and the Constitution from any attempt to try to replace the law of all laws of the nation with a non-enfranchised parallel administrative state. This interview has been very educational, informative, inspiring! Thank you!

Actually- everyone who is posting negative comments just confirmed your own immaturity and ignorance. He is an honest honorable man. If you cant see that, you nee to log off your computers and get a life. Posting comments doesnt make you credible.
