@@SocieteMacabre not really- it was after taxes he was a hired gun, and it was 1982-- what ever royalties he got would be in addition to that. Hired guns don't really get a large base pay especially at the time he wasn't a big name- he became one in Kiss. Where he got screwed was in the royalty payments

I feel sorry for the folks that paid a lot of money to see any of these vault shows. I’ve seen Cub Scout shows that had better production. Gene doesn’t care about quality apparently, he just wants the money. Felt bad for Vinnie, he just wanted to spend some time with Gene, and it was pretty obvious that Gene did not. Vinnie was just a means to an end for Gene, a paycheck. I at least hope Vinnie got paid well, but most likely did not.

I totally agree. I can’t believe how many gullible people out there don’t see through Vinnie’s B.S. He has rocked the ship & tried suing KISS so many times, i’m shocked Gene even did this tbh. There is zero chance of Vinnie & Gene writing music together again. I’m reading some of these comments on here & some people saying you can feel the chemistry yadda,yadda lol 😂 No doubt about it when Gene left the stage after this he had to have been thinking to himself Vinnie is fu€ked in the head. A couple of Vinnie’s comments to Gene were very creepy imo. You're reading TOO much into it which is exactly what Gene desires. The more drama that they create the more relevant that KISS becomes. It's about constantly maintaining their position in R&R. That's why they keep making money when almost every other band from their hayday are gone and forgotten.

Have you watched Decibel Geek on youtube? He made 6 specials of Vinnie Vincent where he digs into his life, interviews people who have dealt with him. Let me tell you, almost all of them have some fked up shit to say about him. One of them being that he's a thief, a liar, and manipulator who has very strange behaviours, including paranoid behaviour. One guy who worked at Kiss conventions in the mid 90s dealt with Vinnie. One day Vinnie's like hey do you wanna buy a guitar that I played during the Kiss lick it up tour? The guy being a fan he's like damn that'd be awesome. Vinnie was selling it 2,000 dollars, the guy didn't have all the money so he put a down payment on it. Vinnie then asked him if he could still use the guitar for Kiss conventions still and that he'd give it to him after that's done. Well, that didn't happen, Vinnie took off with the guitar, which was a cheap mass produced model, not the guitar he played on LIP tour. There's a bunch of other weird shit during that time, like performing on stage without plugging in his guitar and not playing solos. Another guy who worked with Vinnie on the guitars from hell project had a lot of shit to say about Vinnie. Claimed that Vinnie stole from him, and was giving him checks that would bounce.

According to Mark Slaughter (during an interview on Eddie Trunk), what killed VVI was one night, Vinnie asked Mark how he felt about Dana, and said he was going to sack him. Mark took sides with Dana, then the record company sided with them over Vinnie and the rest is history.

Beautiful. I wish they would record an entire album of classic rock songs on acoustic guitars. Call it "Gene & Vinnie".

This is more evidence that Paul had issues with Vinnie. One wonders how awesome it would have been if Vinnie had stuck around longer in Kiss because Vinnie can write songs and play without being a fake Ace clone like Tommy. It seems anyone who cramps Pauls alpha male control on the band is shown the door, there is a long history of this. Look what happened to Ace when he had the best solo album. That sealed his fate in the band. Vinnie's biggest problem was his talent when he was with Kiss.

Poor Vinnie, every time I watch this every few years and every time i feel even worse for Vinnie grasping at straws trying to keep a relationship with Gene.

I hope Vinnie does some dates on the End of The Road Tour cause he is AMAZING!

Gene is a forgiving guy who let's bygones be bygones and holds no grudges. Say what you will of him but those are qualities of a classy, big hearted man. Vinnie was not perfect but who is and its nice to see them together grown up.

too bad eddie trunk, and the KISS expo beat him to it. Vinnie announced this appearance 3 months ago. Vinnie chose when and how he came back out. Gene has had Ace, Peter, and now Vinnie appear at one of his Vault appearances. Paul is busy doing other things.. im hoping maybe some new music is going to be afoot...gene and ace are touring together in australia right now. separate bands but on the same bill.

The whole time I'm like "Shut up and play something instead of tinkering on the strings". Vinnie was trying to be sincere... All Gene could say was "Calm down". I dunno... I feel like Vinnie was ready to make it a special moment and Gene wasn't.

yes, completely. But the important thing..it got them talking. talking about writing songs. talking about writing songs, very often leads to actually writing songs. I hope this aspect of their history repeats itself. the world is overdue a GREAT KISS album such as that is.

This was such a waste. Fans have been looking so forward to this. And so was vinnie. He came out there just to sit up there and have gene take off. Any time vinnie would bring up his time in kiss, or even hint about wanting to play on stuff, gene would change the subject and derail it all. I feel bad for the vinnie and for the fans who thought they would actually see them play together.

i hope VV doesnt get too upset about the way Gene treated him. VV seems very sensitive mentally and all he is trying to do is heal with positive energy. Hanging out with $Bags wasnt a very good idea. Gene muttered some subtle yet cruel comments towards VV during this session.

I guess we still dont understand what is happening here. Vinnie is on the vault. Gene is there to deliver the vaults . Gene does not, nor wants to rekindle anything. I guess vinnie gets a vault. DOnt know why we think any thing has cnhanged.

Everyone is bashing Gene for not letting VInnie talk or play. I think the problem is, Vinnie can't play anymore. Knows some little riffs and whatnot, but nothing real. I don't think they could have played together, even if Gene shut up for a minute :p Also, Gene wanted a fist bump, not to hold hands!

I met this lineup in Metairie Louisiana when I was 7 at a record store the day of their concert. I remember grabbing destroyer and they signed it and asked me to get the new album. I asked them where Ace was, lol.

I remember going in the mid-90's to convention in The Netherlands where Vinnie would be appearing. I went out of curiousity with a friend, who was a KISS-fan. It was the most bizarre thing I've seen. The crowd were these though-guy KISS-fans, and suddenly Vinnie appears on stage. I immediately noticed that there was something "different "about thim. And I wasn't the only one. There was also a tribute-band there, with whom he played a few songs with. But no solos, I don;t think his guitar was even plugged in. Very strange behaviour.

That's because Vinnie's main attribute was his speed picking and sweeps. He lacked general melodic discipline. He's in his 60s and has been out of it long enough that his speed chops are gone. That was confirmed in the leaked footage of his recent performance. That solo he played was mediocre at best.

When Vinnie said someone wants them on the Joe Franklin memory lane and Gene says : ‘ Vinnie he’s DEAD!!’ I couldn’t stop laughing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

watching these two reminds me of how these guys r true mugicians love it!!!!

what a waste ...on every level...I feel sorry for the audience, they were cheated. They could of worked a little something up. What a shame.

They didn't even have the guitars tuned up beforehand 🤦

My buddy says he plays.So I ask him to swing over and bring his guitar so we can jam. So he does. Then he sits there like that and talks and occasionally plucks a note or chord but never plays anything even as I entice him. Because im lousy and if he plays I want to learn from him. But he nonchalantly doesn't play anything. This is exactly what this reminds me of. I dont think my buddy can play.

It’s nice that Vinny invited gene to sit in with him. Such a nice guy. The greatest guitarist to live. I think gene even paid to sit in with Vinny

So what im getting was KISS was a battle of egos between paul and gene and everyone else that was in the band was pretty much collateral

Hard to watch....its as though Gene is Vinnie's guitar instructor. Bad vibes when Gene is playing guitar better than Vinnie is... Before he decided to return he should've definitely put in massive amounts of guitar rehab!

After 12 minutes of watching this, I stopped it and thought this is the most awkward thing I have ever watched. Vinnie seemed like he wanted to be invited to be in Gene's good graces and Gene was looking for a way out while thinking to himself that this was a bad idea...

Gene said one time "Vinnie is persona non-grata forever". Either he has a soft heart, or a soft spot for money.
