If you can handle being stopped over and over from Gene Simmons on stage till you get it right. You can handle anything. Gene showed this kid a VERY valuable lesson in what it takes to be a pro and he didn't even mind crashing his show a little to do it. As big an ego Gene has, he has always been a rock star mentor to new bands, teaching them about the whole package of being a rock star. Even when he had the kid say his name he told him "Say it like a rock star" I've heard him do this with other young bands on Howard Stern. People hate him, and sometimes he makes me cringe too, but he's still been one of my biggest rock star hero's for 40 years.

Johnny C I’m pretty sure he wasn’t embarrassed at all. Not everyone is a sensitive little snowflake.
The kid didn't even look nervous . What a great job .
Awesome clip. I love how Gene takes his time to make sure it’s done right. It’s a great lesson for everyone.
Longtime KISS fan. From 3rd grade til today, and I'm a 49yr old black man. LEXINGTON KY in the house....

Crazy, I’m in Dundee....
At 13 years old I played Gene in a school talent show singing Christine Sixteen. As a young man KISS brought a lot of joy into my life with their image & music. In the 70s & 80s we had true ROCK N ROLL. Todays kids just don't have that. Makes me feel sorry for teenagers these days. I couldn't even imagine my childhood without ROCK N ROLL.
This kid is really good! I have a now 19 year old drummer who I met at 15. Me and lead singer of Broken Mirrors gave him a chance. Playing out was a struggle. I had to be his guardian. Lol He is simply a prodigy. He still continues to amaze me to this day. Never count out someone simply because of their age.
What a champ, no acknowledgement at the end but the band members occasionally came and fed off him like if he was in the band. Love it when bands invite a crowd member to play.
Gene is a class act. Always has been.
That was bad ass!!!!! Hats off to Gene, the drummer and the entire band for allowing that 15 year old to play with them!!!! This video puts a huge grin on my face every-time I see it!!!
"You say Christine 16 now you get arrested" good one
being on stage and working out that break with Gene's help, was like a semester in music school for this kid!!
Way to go Gene I like how you bring noobs up on stage. It also shows the audience how real you and your music are.
This kid lucky to be on stage with a true legend. Gene is a true Rock God, kid got a real lesson.
Dang he has a good voice and a really good bass tone, the stuff stars are made of.

i love how he stops in the middle of the song to get that part right, this is another reason why i love youtube seeing vids like this
My first time seeing KISS was on that very stage in 1976. Me and my cousin had taken the train in to town to go to Gröna Lund. But just as we got there all the attractions closed down due to some newfangled band with paint on their faces. But we remained and it ranks, still today, as one of my best experiences music wise...
Awesome opportunity for that boy, he made rock history for his generation.
I like the old school backline set up....sounds like a REAL rock and roll band!!
Kid did a great job. He'll never forget that!!
One of the greatest ever to do the thing...KISS
Haters will hate, Gene is awesome and this was hilarious!!!

Exactly! All the unsavory things that folks say about Mr. Simmons...well.....look where he's at? One of the biggest names in rock....ever! He's doing something right! Kid killed it!! Awesome!!
I saw Gene's band in Australia & it was such a fun laid back gig. I was so surprised. I was so envious of all the people that Gene pulled out of the crowd to join him on stage.
I like how the guitar player on Gene's left was a little concerned for a second at the start until he realised the kid knows what he's doing. Gene was pretty funny too! LOL!

We let an unknown, unheard 17 year old kid in the back door of a bar one night and let him play with the band. He had his sticks with him so that told me he played all the time and might be pretty good. After hearing about 20 seconds I knew it was going to be fun. He played like Alex Van Halen and knew most of the stuff we did. Ronnie joined the band 2 years later (at 19) and we used him for the Water Boy during the Wet T-Shirt contest's. We raised him right!

Most bands do this now, let fans play at a show, they never used to do this because back in the 70's and 80's there were some fans who were far better than the pro musicians and you could hear it, now, the bands want to promote any musician that wants to try.
