Took my wife to see Sir Tom Jones approx ten years ago. Time has changed him slightly, he looks older, but was still handsome, he had to adjust for his voice changing with age. There was something that had not changed, most of the women at the theatre fell in love with him on the spot. He oozes sex appeal, and is one of the most talented singers ever heard.

It’s nice to see young people appreciate music from that era. Tom was and still is a huge star mainly due to his powerful voice and his easy going personality when he hosted his show in the late 60’s and early 70’s. I remember watching his show weekly and there were not many guests that were on the same level as him vocally except one. When he had Wilson Pickett on and they did a medley of songs together you could see Tom was just in awe of Pickett’s voice and it was a proud moment for Tom to host him. Tom became friends with Elvis later although Elvis by then had stopped touring and did only Vegas a couple times a year if that. PS: listen to Wilson Pickett’s version of Hey Jude and you will be in awe also.

Lonnie Donegan, a singer in his own right, wrote this song and Tom sang it with Lonnie's son on 'The Voice'. He is from Wales and another great singer from Wales is Shirley Bassey who sang 3 James Bond themes which you should listen to, i.e. 'Goldfinger' and 'Diamonds Are Forever'.

Several years back on " The Voice Uk" , Tom was the only judge to turn for one particular singer , the young lad was the son of the late Lonnie Donnegan . After telling the judges he was Lonnie Donnegans son a rather emotional Tom asked if he knew the song his late father had written for him and asked if " They could do the song together " , very emotional , but what a voice he still has

Tom sang this song on the Voice. The son of the guy that wrote this song for Tom performed and surprised him. Tom sang this song with experience and power. He still has it.

Thank you girls for commenting on men taking pride in our appearance! We need more female voices telling us to up our game!! 'Cause frankly....I'm depressed that we've collectively become such unfashionable schlubs. Getting back to the music though....Tom is Welsh and all Welshmen seem to have amazing singing voices. I'm not sure if anyone knows why......coal dust, perhaps??

😂😂😂😂 I wore suits my whole adult working life. I retired to the beach in California a few years ago. My wardrobe now consists entirely of cargo shorts, t-shirts, flip flops. It’s the best way to live. 😊

If your grandmother or her sisters was around or maybe in the audience back then. When Tom toured Britain and America. They would cut out the TV audience, because most of the audience the young women and older teenage girls 19 and older would take off their knickers and run down the front and throw them in his direction. While he was on stage and TV shots of him having a pair of knickers landing on him or bounce off him while he was singing would cut to a head shot or the orchestra in the pit or at the back of the stage behind a screen when these young women, did this. How do I know. I had a mother who worked at these venues and cinemas back then yes cinemas. Who got to see some of the greats from the late fifties and middle sixties and film stars who came to see him and have a drink with him afterwards on stage. My mother didn't think much of the Beatles when she heard them with their tiny speakers going through their act with lights before preforming later to a paying audience. But the rolling stones she loved and liked most of their songs. And she told me about the Tom Jones concerts, she said, there was a few male singers and groups this happened to as well that had knickers aimed at them, but I cannot for the life of me, think of them artists, that had the knickers thing happen to them Love mum

Tom is 83 and just released a new album. He and his wife got married at 15 and I don’t know whose parents thought that was a great idea. His son looks older than he does but he remained married until his wife died. He is great friends with Australia’s John Farnham and they have toured together. The first time they sang together was on Hey Hey it’s Saturday on TV and neither were there to sing. John went all fan but his voice is amazing too. They sang a short version of My Yiddishe Momma and that song is beautiful. It was funny and wonderful. They later sang it together in full on an awards show. John Farnham is 74 and called the Voice for a very good reason. So far they have found 13 different genres of music that he sings naturally including Opera and that one surprised me. So he and Tom work really well together. I grew up listening to their music. If you want to hear John on his own alway choose live. Try his version of Help, live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. The Beatles wrote and recorded it but John fixed it. Even John Lennon told him that. Tom Jones and John Farnham are two very nice men and both are very gifted. Thank you.
