@@knrz2562 That's what I was thinking but the modern r/t hemi has 375hp as appose to this ones 345. I still think the 71 would take it but I'd still love to see it.

71 Handsdown! That is already a lifetime dream come true just to watch these cars up against each other. It blows me away, coming from once an original 71 Challenger owner way back when I was young and had to sell it back to the original owner just to afford school. That was when I was nineteen in 1990 and now thirty two years of sorrow and regret!

For sure, the 71 challenger was actually doing well for itself at the start of each race. I’m impressed with the results! With the same engine the challenger would definitely leave the hellcat in the dust.

Yeah, after 2 454 4-speed '73 vettes, one completely tricked with heads/cam/intake/1050 dominator, w/side pipes unbaffled, I found myself in an '80 350/4-speed and bought a lotta bolt on to try and capture that rush. I couldn't, but I could flex the hell outta that '80 and make that bitch answer. Was Hella fun! Wuz black/black w/15x10 true spokes and 295/50/15. Man, I'm old.

I'd def settle for the 71 just because it's a class act all day long. However, i'm sitting here pausing the video because it's impressive just how similar the style is. The only real difference is the height and modern components. It wouldn't take much effort at all to take a modern Challenger and turn into a 71' replica. That's kudos to the Dodge team. All the more insane for them going all electric this year.

Give me the pink slip for the 71 I was born that year and would love to get one to add to my collection 👍🏾

I cant legally drive at the speeds the gen3 can drive. Its beautiful. But I would still take the 71 ! I graduated in 1971 and I owned a 1971 Charger later...
