I am married to a Greek (I'm from Norway) and have been learning how to cook Greek food for the last few years. KZread has naturally been a source of inspiration and knowledge, but for some reason I only came across your channel today. Having watched a few of your videoes for a take on the dishes that I make, I have to say that you are a STAR! Very well done, nicely presented - but mainly, I can see that your dishes are really good! I look forward to using your recipies going forward! Thank you for your lovely videos!

Great recipe and presentation. I made a quadruple batch of meat/rice sauce and stuffed 18 peppers. Had enough of the meat sauce rice mix to freeze to shorten the process next time. I also had some fresh fennel (maratho in Greek). I chopped it up and put some in the sauce with the other spices. Excellent results. Really like Dimitra's presentations and have shared them with many people who have enjoyed them and had good results.

Hi Dimitra, I love how you cook and explain it so simply. I am married to a Greek in Australia, and would watch his mum cook but she didn’t speak English so it was difficult. I found your site and became an avid fan over the past couple years. Sadly his mum passed away and yours were the go to. Our last trip to Greece I fell in love with portokalopita. Would love to see your take on it please. His mum would make a dish and we had it while in Athens at a relatives (her recipe) it was divine, beef lemonato. She said she learned it from my mother in law but couldn’t write it in English. Any help for those recipes would be appreciated. Most of our meals now are Greek and it seems I do them perfectly. Thanks to you 🙏😊🥰

I am half Greek, I do a similar type of stuffed bell peppers and tomatoes. The difference is I don't cook the meat. I just mix the raw ground meat (I add some water in it) with salt and pepper, add the rinsed rice, some herbs (parsley), +/- onion, garlic, then I fill the cut peppers and tomatoes, I pour the same tomato sauce you did, around the stuffed peppers, cover and cook on low heat, on the stove or in the oven. A slow cooker on high works too. I never used potatoes in this dish. And I eat the cooked meal with some full fat, real Greek yogurt layered over the opened pepper or tomato with some of the tomato sauce. I may add some fresh cut dill in the sauce after the dish is cooked.

Hey Dimitra, how are you? I was watching your stuffed peppers recipe and salivating as it's lunch time. I'll try your recipe. We don't use dill, only parsley and mint with parboiled rice instead of basmati. This looks mouthwatering! I really have to check out your channel AFTER I have lunch! I love your Dutch oven. Can you please let me know where you purchased it and what's the maximum temperature for the oven? I know some go up to 500 degrees. I wanted a cast iron pan but I think it's too much work or I'm just lazy. Do you have any recommendations for something that cooks great and is pretty big, 6-8 portions( for us it's 3-4)...you understand.🇬🇷🇨🇦 Hopefully they deliver in Canada because some don't. Thank you! Not in a hurry, when you get a chance. By the way, I'm pretty new to your channel. Do you have a compilation off all your recipes so far in one cookbook with food and dessert because I love all your dishes, pita recipes, and desserts. Thank you for your patience in reading my comments(or novel, depending how you look at it). It's ok if you forget something seeing that the list is endless. I'd like to thank you in advance❤️💯😇

Hi Maria!! Thanks so much for watching :) I have several Dutch oven pots and pans. I LOVE them!! They cook so evenly and much faster than stainless steel... All of mine are inexpensive: $60 or less. The 5 quart pots are only around $30 dollars... crazy!! Especially because the well-known name brand kind go for $200-$300 each!! I buy mine from my local supermarket but am always on the lookout when shopping at Marshalls/Home Goods. I just bought a very big one from the company: Lodge for $50.. I love that company. Their cast iron stuff is exceptional and not too expensive... If you buy one, I suggest getting it in the 5-6 quart range. I too, cook "Greek portions"...haha! Just in case someone stops by or for leftovers...lol! I do have a cookbook, but it's full of Brunch recipes.. It's called "The Brunch Table" The ebook is available on my website and the paperback on Amazon :) I plan on writing a big one someday with all of my recipes, just don't know when I'll get the chance. Thanks so much for being here. I appreciate your comments :) All the best!!!
