It's not because the cgis bad the frame rate is high, if the fram rate was 22 fps (like regular movies) you wouldn't be able to tell it's cgi

He originally said don't shoot him because he thought he could win in a non lethal way. When he realised he couldn't he pulled his own gun. When he lost that he shout "shoot him" She doesn't so then he pulls the knife.

I know people are harping over CGI but this is still 10 times more entertaining to watch when you remember most actions nowadays have a cut every fraction of a second. It's breath of fresh air to able to hang an action scene. Feel like I'm watching a Naruto taijutsu fight.

I just finished watching the movie and it was far beyond my expectations. I personally believe the plot was based off one of those art imitating life situations that take place hidden from the public eye. The negative reviews were unwarranted with the exception of the sometimes awkward cgi anomalies in Will's younger face. Overall great movie and I would definitely recommend it.

I watched this on prime when it was on offer. I thought it was great, it has its flaws but I enjoyed the concept of a man at the peak of what a human can be. He's the Mike Tyson of the espionage world. Like Mike Tyson he was born to do it. MT was the perfect boxer in his prime, his body was genetically superior, his mind/reaction time as fast as can be, his will was indomitable. He was almost superhuman, he was just a human at the very limit of what a human could do. This is what we see here, it looks a little strange the CGI is choppy unfortunately but because there are no stuntmen that can fight like this(Remember these guys are 1 in a billion) live action is impossible. It's a good movie, fuck the critics they know fuck all

People Hate on this for reasons like "Bad Animation, Not good cgi, and the frame rate was this or that, yet have no respect for the fact that it's hard to make someone fight a younger version of themself, and have it look well. People in general always have to find something to hate on, and it's quite annoying. I bet if those who hated on it were the ones up there it wouldn't look any different. They did their best on it, and it came out well.

Yeah I can see why people say the movement is weird, because those are full CG models that take over in moments where the actors aren’t close up. You can tell by the rigid and sped up movement, as well as all the punches/kicks landing and dodging (too perfect and super human fast).

I did see Gemini Man for the 1st time, and I think was okay. It wasn't my favorite film, but It's looks okay. I can't lie, but the young CGI Will Smith looks so terrifying to me. The fight scene between him and the older Will Smith looks great, but at the same time, looks really scary, because of the way they were moving really fast like it's a video game.

I have no idea what freaking direction they were trying to go with "Young Will Smith". His introduction is amazing! He's ruthless, intimidating, and appears to be a "killing machine". But then, out of nowhere, he gets all emotional. His whole interaction with (female supporting character) here shows that he even needs a REASON TO KILL SOMEONE. And it kinda just left "Young Will Smith" with no room for any character development. He's just some guy who has been lied to. Which, okay, that can work...but even at the end he's still kind of the same character.

@@youtubinganonymous2 I first watched this in "high frame rate" on my 4K TV and 4K blu-ray player. It was filmed at 120fps (which is physically NOT possible to show yet at any consumer level). Whennormalthat eriously For me, I had quite a bit of trouble with the way some of the action was edited. There appears to be some unnatural speeding up and just unnatural forms of movement in many places. This is especially true during their one-on-one brawl in this video. I can understand the difficulty of having to super-impose BOTH Will Smith's faces over a stunt-double (or at times just film in a way that hides their face). But why are their *body movements* giving me the impression that they might be freaking MUTANTS, lol. I wonder if the frame rate conversion has anything to do with it. It's still physically impossible to watch this film as intended, since theaters can only go up to 60fps. 120fps is the typical frame-rate for SLOW MOTION.

@@thefilmwhisperer1105 I often wondered about the conversion as well. Hard to say what effect it has for sure. I do think the unnatural speeding up comes from CGI, not just of the face, but their entire bodies and props as well. Its most noticeable with the bike chase scene. When junior corners Will and proceeds to (hilariously) beat him up with the bike, you can see the speed and physics are off because, at that point, they've just CGI'd everything - the face, the body, the bike, etc. Essentially, it ends up looking similar to a next-gen console game, because in essence - it is (in games, everything on screen is essentially "CGI"). This leads to me to think that large sections of that 1v1 brawl were actually CGI'd, as opposed to live fighting/stunt work.

@@Dealio09 well their enhanced, that's their advantage, see Cap and Winter Soldier can lift approximately 3 tons, so one can assume Black Panther could also. So problem here is Bruce doesn't have any enhancements, so it shouldn't 3 tons like them but possibly close, he's stated to e the strongest non enhanced human sooo..... LOL that's why I was asking U.

Agreed. The plot and dialogue was bad enough, but the cgi just makes me want to give up. There were places where I thought they'd done a relatively good job with the face, but those moments lasted a few shots and then wham - the college scene at the end. Frightening.
