I was really tickled to get my Churchill in beautiful Gabon Ebony. Excellent fit and finish and a real beauty! It was only the second GEC that I ever bought. Now I have added a #48 Improved Trapper, #43 Oregon Trapper, #71 Bull Nose, and #13 Speaker Jack and single blade Whip. More to come! Thanks for draining my bank account GEC!

I picked up one of the Northfield’s (banana shield). Being left handed, this is easily one of the best GEC knives I’ve bought. Nice even pull’s and extremely smooth. As much as I’ve been using it, I’m sure it will head your way for sharpening in the near future. Great Knife!

Your camera is amazing always a pleasure to watch your vids for several reasons but one very important one is I can see every detail of the KNIFE...CLARITY!!

I have this knife and I think it's extremely functional. You have a clip point with belly for slicing, and a short wharncliffe for draw cuts. The blades compliment each other and there's no fluff.

Nice little score there! I see you're gaining an appreciation for the opposite ended jacks! ( Back when I first discovered GEC, I wasn't into em all that much, but it didn't take long before I gained that appreciation for the opposite ended single springers myself. ) I absolutely love em now. Big beefy back spring & blade stock, smooth cam-end action, and who can deny the talent it takes to do those lateral main grinds to produce a 2 blader that is nice and thin.......yet STOUT! Yes SIR!!!

I have this exact knife in my hand and I am so very pleased with its personality and function. That sheepsfoot is SURGICAL, and the clip main is just a tough-as-nails workhorse. I ordered this knife from KSF as soon as I saw it and I am seriously tempted to buy another in hummingbird acrylic. Cheers, Rob!

PS - I also bought a calf pen and immediately returned it. It's a strange duck, and it's not at all for me. It's too bad, really, because I loved the Wharncliffe blade on that knife, but the liner lock on the half stop main was super irritating to use, and the bump created by the liner lock, along with the shape of the blades at rest, killed any chance of a comfortable grip. I had the same concern about the Churchill, but I am happy to say that the Churchill has no issues in hand.

I have this in maroon linen micarta and it's my most carried knife by far. It's gorgeous and the clip and sheepsfoot probably provide the most useful two blade combination possible. The lack of a half stop is the only thing keeping it from being the perfect user slip joint. Blade rub does occur when using the natural opening technique but you can avoid it by stabilizing the far side of the blade with your index nail when using your thumb on the nail nick.

Beauty of a knife, thanks for showing. I might just have to add this to the wish list. Is this your favoriteGEC? I never owned one before.

Man I really need to add a GEC to my collection... Been dying to try one for a couple years but I can never decide which, I love the Barlow design but have no idea which is best. Maybe a TC sheepsfoot...

Hello, can you please help me with my decision? I want some new traditional pocket knife and can't decide between GEC Tidioute 78 American Jack and GEC Tidioute 35 Churchill , both 2017 production models. Which one is by your opinion better as an every day carry general utility pocket knife? Thank you in advance for answer and have a nice day. Greetings from Slovakia

Pavel Kvak Ako si to nakoniec rozhodol? Ja som riesil tu istu dilemu vcera. Nakoniec som siel do Churchilla, lebo uprednostnujem skladne noze. Ale aj tak ma mrzi ten american jack. Mal som vziat oba...a umriet hrdinskou smrtou martyra v rukach mojej polovicky za vyprazdnenie uctu :-)

I got my churchill in maroon micarta in the mail yesterday and I gotta admit I am underwhelmed. My expectations have most likely been boosted by the fact that it is my most expensive folder. Everything you said about the knife in the video rings true and despite having watched it multiple times before purchase, I am still taken aback by the issues. The action on the main blade is REALY lazy. I can make it stay in any position. I recon it is the pivot that is too tight and that it will break in eventually. Did yours? Also the secondary blade could have been sunken much more, perhaps even with the tiny notch as on harness jack. I love the thinness of the secondary stock though.

What is your opinion on the satin finish of the tidioute vs. the polished finished on the northfield on a user knife like these?

Joshua Butcher I much prefer the satin finish on the Tidioutes. If I scratch the blade, a couple strokes on sandpaper and I have a fresh satin.

TheApostleP I ended up buying the Northfield because of the hummingbird acrylic. Hopefully it will wear nicely despite the finish
