I think the saddest part is that Adam hates himself for all the times he didn't tell marcus that he loved him
The way he went out was so badass. Good, often forgotten part of the story
Amazing trip down memory lane, Gears trilogy still my favorite campaign of all time.
Funnily enough the critiques by the queen of Adam being a master of war was caused by him being driven to the corner of helping the locusts or humanity. Unsurprisingly he choose humanity albeit without holding out hope of still preventing the worst.

It was revealed in the book Ascendance to be a lot of things that Adam had planned for the future. Among them was information on a Hammer of Dawn satellite in Azura - which is what led Delta to it in the first level of Gears 5.
