So much confusion about heat pump settings in Honeywell TH8320R. So many references say Heat pump on for cooling. It will not work that way, I find it must be on Heating. Also my AZ65H15DAC hardly ever uses the Heat pump until well above 40. I am a educated Hvac and program the thermostat ourselves. Also Zoneline not happy if the thermostat is set for the backup heat stage using the white wire. Seems the unit wants single stage to handle the pump itself. Am I correct in my findings?

I have a GE AZ65H15DAC Zoneline which is controlled by an Ecobee 3 thermostat. Since the Zoneline wiring harness doesn't allow for multi-speed wiring (G1 and G2) is there a way for me to program the ptac for CFM Indoor Fan Low instead of it's default of CFM Indoor Fan High?

Just run the fan speed wire from the Ecobee to the GL wire lead (tan wire) on the Zoneline thermostat harness instead of the GH (green wire). GL is the low fan speed while GH is the high fan speed.

@@justinhaag4012 I called Ecobee and they walked me through the steps to wiring the thermostat to the ptac (multi speed). I'm now noticing the noise difference between when I controlled the fan speed directly on the ptac vs on the thermostat. The ptac fan was quieter when controlled directly on the ptac. Is there so sort of configuration setting on the ptac I need to perform before connecting the thermostat? I'm trying to achieve a much quieter low/high fan speed with the thermostat connected. I find myself waking up when the ptac kicks on in the middle of the night. Any advice would greatly be appreciated.

I made the mistake of not unplugging the unit before hooking up a new thermostat.

I'm trying to understand this - does this switch on a remote wifi capability to connect to a nest thermostat? Does it need to be hard wired? Or is another sort of wifi/Bluetooth transmitter that needs to be connected as well?

@@geappliances thank you ! Assume I need the WP26X24981 8 pin thermostat kit. And wire per Nest instructions… noting 24vac … is it wired as a 1 stage heat pump or 2 ( referring to nest wiring instructions)

Hi Charlie, Yes you will need the WP26X24981 thermostat connector. There are instructions below on how to get one if your PTAC didn’t come with one: The connector will come with an explanation of which wires go where. If you have an AZ65 you have a heat pump, and you will use terminal B (you will need to make sure your thermostat is configured for B heat pump operation, your thermostat should include instructions for this). You should have corresponding terminals on your thermostat. You will need to set the AUX settings as described in the video. If you have trouble once connected and the Zoneline mode 6 is set to 6N, refer to this video for assistance: spklr.io/6056lWjy If you are in need of a wall thermostat connector for this unit, please contact GE Zoneline support at 1-844-GE4-PTAC (1-844-434-7822) or Email: ca.airandwater@geappliances.com - Please reference Part Number WP26X24981 in your message. -MS
