1st comment, this is a nice old unit, the bit thats bent actually has no refrigerant piping

Thanks! Yeah that part is just a support. The problem was that it placed that side of the evaporator at an angle and caused it to put stress on the connection between the two evaporators.

I like carbide burrs or round nose burrs for countersinks, its actually better than the most expensive counter sinks.

That is a good point. The low number of straight flutes on these countersinks do tend to chatter. I can see how a burr would be better. I don't have a large enough one, at the moment.

why don't you de-solder the pipe on the bottom of the float valve instead of cutting?
