Thank you for sharing this. I have a 1984 Hurst Oldsmobile and it has the single piston caliper. I just got back from pick-n-pull and I got everything as a complete unit I spent about $120 for everything. I’ll be cleaning everything up and adding drilled and slotted rotors. Again thank you.

@@jlee3568 so... I have found that the S10 master with a 1" bore is not quite cutting it. The peddle travel is ridiculous. I'm going to a 1.125" bore from a mid '90s 1/2 ton next to tighten it up. With stock brakes it probably is fine. The booster must be stronger or something, factory 4th gen F body is a 1" bore (my front brakes are 2001 Trans Am) so it should have been fine. Just look up a master for a 2001 S10 on RockAuto, just keep scrolling and you'll find the RHD mail carrier version.

I finally splurged for a set of these today. I've been wanting to cut the ball joint mounting locations off and relocate them for a 1.5" drop and to correct the poor gbody geometry and bump steer. The purpose is to use them to make a mold to cast them myself and because of the bolt on hubs I wouldn't need a machine shop 200mi away to bore a hole and press the spindle shafts in. Simply drill and tap the holes and it would be drop spindles combined with a factory brake and steering upgrade. I'm hoping I can get around to it sometime this summer. May do the 1st few prototypes with aluminum because it's easier to work with and on tooling.

The honest answer is, I don't know. However, if I do a super lazy search for GBody spindles on summit racing the '78 El Camino is grouped in with the other Gbodies. I have never tried to put anything smaller than 17' wheels on the front of mine post brake swap so I don't know for sure, but the 2000 Blazer did come stock with 15x7 wheels. Wheels were gone when I got the brakes. www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-csum77m500/applications/make/chevrolet/model/el-camino www.google.com/search?ei=QyJBXeaaIa3J0PEP65GqgAs&q=2000+blazer+wheel+size&oq=2000+blazer+wheel+size&gs_l=psy-ab.3..0i70i251j0i22i30l3.2416.5070..5239...0.0..0.293.1183.0j4j2......0....1..gws-wiz.......0i71j0j0i10.0I_xTSrS-7E&ved=0ahUKEwimyMzosd7jAhWtJDQIHeuICrAQ4dUDCAo&uact=5 I didn't use a blazer rear. I have a whole other video about using the Ford 8.8 rear and then using the Blazer rear discs on that. To be honest, I don't see why you couldn't make the Blazer rear brakes work on the stock 7.5, but it won't be bolt-up. there will at least be drilling of new holes.

Hey did you have any problems with the original line nuts being too big to fit in the master cylinder?

  • @BurnoutsAndRotorblades

Negative. Did you get the part number I specified in the video? (AC Delco 174-750 or Duralast NM3068) If you didn't that might be the problem. Either the master cylinder might be the wrong one or the lines on your car might not be the same metric line nuts that are on my car.

There are multiple choices. One has a tall reservoir that won't fit under the hood. It is possible that the one you pulled is the wrong one. I had to go back to the parts store several times before I found the right one. The really annoying part about it is there are no definitive markings to identify the part number.

You can, but it won't be much of an upgrade. It is a single pot caliper. The 2000 Blazer has a two piston caliper.

the 80’s caprice is a GM B-Body. A very different chassis I don’t know much about. The most honest answer I can give is, I don’t know. Sorry I can be more help. I found this for the rear: www.google.com/amp/s/www.hotrod.com/articles/ccrp-0805-gm-drum-brake-to-disc-brake-swap/amp/

Your car the Caprice is a b body, you can use the Impala rear disk brakes upgrade. Fleetwood, Impala, Roadmaster and Caprice are the same car the Fleetwood is just a little longer with makes it a d body
