its really common for japanese indie musicians to create contrasts like that, if you listen more of these kind of music, you will se that there is a lot of powerful and dark lyrics, but with an uplifting and "positive" sound design

There is also "I Think I Just Died" by Guiano. It has such a happy beat, but the lyrics tell such a different story.

It's funny to me that the music sounds "uplifting" to some people. To me, it starts like you're walking pensively and appearing okay to others but the sky has soft colors and it makes you want to cry a little. But it becomes more and more frenzied, like the spinning inside is coming out and the frustrations get screamed out, and it concludes more pensively than it began, like you realize that not everything you're thinking or feeling makes sense and you want to pick what is true, but it can be tiring, so you try to appear okay again. Most of the frustrations are released, and you're trying to simplify and sort out what you're holding onto

この人のリアクション本当に良い。 本当に音楽に入り込んでいる。 特にまふまふさんが唯一この曲の中で柔らかく優しく歌っている「君が生きていたならそれでいい。そうだ。本当は」の所で柔らかく優しい表情になるのが本当に良いです。 その直後「そういうことが歌いたい」の感情の爆発に最大の衝撃を受けてる所も。 人柄や音楽に対するスタンスがにじみ出て居るし、何より曲を止めないのが良いと思う。 曲を止めて評論している動画をよく見かけるが、あれはあまり好きではないですね。

This song, and other Japanese indie artists as well as Vocaloid producers often have dark lyrics with upbeat rythms and melodies.

まふまふさんのカバーが本家より再生回数が多くなったからだと思う。他の方の動画で「なんで"歌ってみた"なの？再生回数が1番だからこの人で合ってるよね」って感じのこと言ってる人がいたから、まふまふさんが本家だと思ってる人が多いのかも。
