A bit of backstory on Mafumafu. He was bullied for having a 'girly' voice Back in the time he showed his face, he was stalked to the point he had to move house 3 times. The stalkers would break in and drag him from his bed into the street He had his ghost written songs stolen by a producer called 'Suzumu' who retired out of guilt as of 2015. One of Mafumafu's original songs 'berserk' talks about this If his best friend 'Soraru', who's another Japanese singer, wasn't there for him through this time he probably would have killed himself long ago.

One reason I love this song, is that it talks about how life isn't fair, not everyone is going to be happy, not everyone will accomplish their goals, not everyone is going to do anything meaningful, about the contradiction of wanting the people you love to live, while you yourself want to die. Then in the end, the song says that no matter what, you need to live. It begs you to. Unlike many other songs about depression, it doesn't say "if you do X, it'll be fine", nor does it act like you should die. It talks about how life hurts, how even though you aren't happy, you need to live.

I just like how he really tried to read the subs. Because the lyrics really is legend.

There’s one part of the lyrics which I was confused wasn’t translated, instead of just saying “they’re all just illusions” (affection, friendship etc) it actually says “they’re all just illusions/things that can be bought with MONEY” idk why it was never translated lol

you should really listen to some of mafumafu's original songs, his lyrics are so poetic and the music and vocals harmonise really well. I personally recommend "berserk"

This is a depressing song but it actually helped me through my depression. Another song like this but with more catchy melody is made by Neru. Those songs are basically my medicine back in those depressing days.

Most of Neru songs actually lmao. I didn't write the titles, cuz there are a lot. Love that guy's music. Well if I really have to write it. There are Terror, Drowning in a Wave of Sadness, and Re-Education were most of the stuff I heard back in the days.

Harusaruhi did a rap cover of this and it was WILD. This song, is in my opinion, the best thing written by Kanzaki Iori. Go ahead and do the rap cover of this song my dude, I think you'll find it slappin'

Not seeing comments bringing up, this was actually a cover, as you stated in the video, there is a Vocaloid version, and that is the original, by Kanzaki Iori. His music in general is amazing, and while I love Mafumafu's cover, I do find it a little disappointing he doesn't get the credit for this amazing song. That said, I believe the covers do an amazing job bringing out the potential of the song as while I love vocal synths, I feel Hatsune Miku's voice doesn't carry this song as well as some cover artists do

Kanzaki iori wrote the song, majiko was the original singer of it, and mafu only did a cover which got very popular.
