I just want to thank you very much, I have been searching the web for latch ideas, as I am rebuilding a cattle corral, these are the best ideas and designs I have found. Thank you so much for posting this kind of information, I am young and trying to rebuild my grandparents ranch, been working on several sections over the past 4 years, I finally decided to rebuild the corral. Very interesting all the different latch mechanisms. It would be great to have all these designs documented in a book with illustrations etc. I've been repairing a few gates at home with a stick welder and it nice to see this type of content.

Thank you. I did that on the fly. Need to do one that encompasses gate latches on other ranches and compile them in one place.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen such a fantastic variety of strong, safe, secure, ingenious and artistic farm gate latches. 😮 I’m sure, as a vet, you’ve seen a fair few nasty cattle/horse/people wounds from protruding gate fasteners. Talking of smart horses, I had one once that when being ridden/hunting he always stretched his neck out to touch any wire by a gate latch to check if it was hot before manoeuvring up close enough for me to lean over to open the gate! 💥🤦🏼‍♀️ He didn’t seem to mind the shock, was just more careful with the task! 😂

I greatly appreciate your efforts to educate through your videos. Your gate construction is excellent. Regarding your working facility video, do you have a diagram? or do you have any drone footage showing your layout? Your doing a great job, it would help me as I plan for new additions. Also, just a quick Howdy to a fellow Aggie ('80). I have an Ag-Ed degree but I'm just getting started with regenerative farming. Please keep up the good work.

Great latches. Note: WD-40 will gum up and get sticky over time. Need to use sometime else. I like BreakFree CLP for everything now.

Are those cattle panels home built out of oil field pipe or are they "store bought"?

We bought the pipe but it is not oil field pipe. The panels are store bought. We get them from Producers Cooperative in Bryan, Texas. Their number is 979-778-6000.
