Gas tax getaway? Poilievre pushes Trudeau to give Canadians "summer break" from fuel taxes

On Thursday, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre called on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to give Canadians a "fuel tax holiday" by suspending all gas and diesel taxes for the summer.
"Canadians are struggling and they are unable to even afford a vacation. They need a break, for God's sake," he said.
"It will reduce gas prices by 35 cents a litre, allowing families to get on the road and go off to their favourite campsite, maybe a cottage or a cabin. Do some fishing, some hunting, or just get away for a weekend," Poilievre said.

The idea is if you use less carbon, then you get back more than you put in. It provides an incentive, rather than a punishment. It does work. We’ve had it BC for many years. BUT it has not been communicated well. Also M. Pollievre does his best to increase the confusion.

I studied Pierre since he got elected to the party as well as going back about 15years - and - he is a chronic liar in various ways and has been all along. Matter of fact he does very poorly at it. Should note that I have no use for Justin either. Two clowns in my opinion. I can see another protest voet coming up for me.

@@joycemclean9661 😱Nooooo - I said a protest vote. Matter of fact I am hoping for a Conservative minority government with the NDP holding the balance of power - This would make it the biggest oxymoron in Canadian history🤣. The joke will be on the Jokesters and friends.
