I had something hit my house outside of my kitchen in Texas a couple of years ago. It missed the window thank goodness. It hit with a big boom. Scared the pajeebies out of me. It was after dark. Next day i looked and it was a very hard ball looking thing. Really hard like concrete. Much bigger than a softball but smaller than a soccer ball. It had pieces of something in it. crazy how a company can drop that from the sky risking crushing anyone and anything on earth and its ok
@vvhitevvabbit6479
Ай бұрын
It's because the risk is so low. Realistically humans don't take up a lot of space. As a total, Every human on Earth only takes up about 0.0011% of the surface area of the Earth. Also, most debris burn up completely on reentry. Only very large pieces and thermally insulated ones make it back to the surface. Companies like SpaceX also calculate the possible reentry paths of debris and they choose conditions that put that path through low population areas. It's very VERY unlikely to be struck by a piece of falling rocket/satellite debris. You're more likely to be hit by lighting 1,000 times.

It wasn't confirmed to be spacex, and they are not the only rocket company in the world. Space debris should burn up on reentry, but it isn't uncommon for pieces to make it through. We don't notice it most of the time because it typically lands in the ocean. But regardless of what rocket/satellite this is from, there's nothing casual or intentional about it lol
You can't fool me, it's clearly a piece of debris from a giant hairy gorilla robot.
