Gary Thorne is the best sports announcers in sports history. Nobody will ever be better. I love his electrifying calls. He needs no application or interview; just sign him.

You can tell that Gary Thorne is *so* done with Gleyber Torres. 😁
He was the best with the orioles. Gary and Jim Palmer. Hell of a combo

Getting rid of him was the dumbest thing MASN has ever done besides cost the Orioles an ASG.

As a Brit who grew up on MLB International's feed of the World Series on Channel 5 and latterly BT Sport, I absolutely think without a shadow of a doubt that Gary Thorne's GOODBYE HOME RUN!!! is the absolute definitive way to call a home run, no matter how exhilarating or exasperating it sounds. Just wished he'd have called a home run in his Augusta Masters voice.
9:37 has to be the most cleanest footage of Aaron Boone’s walk off homerun on KZread

In the comments section of the video I pulled it from someone said that series was big in Japan because of Hideki Matsui, and apparently the Japanese had more advanced HD in 2003 lol
The voice of my childhood and a bit of my adulthood as an Orioles fan. Wish he was still with us.
I miss Thorne calling Orioles games. That’s 2 great announcers the Orioles owners have let get out of town. Gary Thorne and the great John Miller, the former voice of the Orioles.

I really miss him. It'd be amazing if Rubenstein could manage to bring him back in some capacity.
In my mind Gary Thorne is hands down the best sports announcer. Its sad to me that he never recieved the accolades that he should have and since the early 2000s he hasnt been with any of the major sports networks. This guy should be calling hockey games and baseball games regulary.
• “No errors… except for that one” • “oooooooooh goodbye home run, Chris Davis” • Empty ballpark masters voice • Gleyber Torres tormenting the Orioles and Gary Some of many great moments that show why Gary Thorne is the best overall broadcaster in sports. Hockey, baseball, football… he can do it all.

Also "Trembleeeee, Wembleeee, Galore!" (I think?)
I could go without a mute button on my television when Gary Thorne is the announcer.

Wish he never retired from national tv... one of the best to do it, as an orioles fan I wish we gave him a better team to call

He was a fucking legend! Miss him calling the O’s with Palmer
My favorite part 5:02. He was just a force calling those games
Orioles, Yankees, Mets, hockey, Little League, or even a commercial for oranges, Gary Thorne is awesome!
Gary Thorne could commentate paint drying and I’ll watch the entire thing
I have watched Gary Thorne back in the day he is as good as advertised😊
I know Gary, great guy and an amazing announcer.
I remember him calling met games!! I miss that! He is my all time favorite announcer!
Heard the last recent announcing job he had was alternate radio announcer for the Mets. I would love to hear his voice on national television one more time.

Gary Thorne's call of the David Freese walk off is LEAGUES better than Joe Buck's on the national broadcast. It's what makes guys like Gary Thorne so good and what makes me hate Joe Buck so much more

Eh, i mean Joe Buck wasn't as excited as Thorne but he had surgery so his voice was broken that year, also he honored his dad saying "We will see you tommorrow night" so i think he pulled it off
All great calls but Thorne was deep in his bag for the Seattle/Yankees 95 ALCS
Gary Thorne is great for baseball but a million times better in hockey
3:29 this is the best one lmao “OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH”
Love Gary's Masters voice from Philadelphia❤️💙🤍 to Baltimore🖤🧡
Piazza had the smoothest swing I’ve ever seen.
The Scott Brosius call is legendary

TRUMBOOOO...BUMBOOOO....JUMBOOOOO

Goodbye Homerun 😢
What network/station was Thorne calling for during Freese’s HR?
@MattCProductions_

MLB international. Vasgersian is the lead broadcaster for it now I believe.
2:00 this play always makes me laugh bc why did the second runner try and score? He had no shot 😂
Good bye homerun
So good at MASN for the Oriole broadcasts! Always seemed to keep Jim Palmer's enormous ego in check!! Now he's been replaced on that network by Kevin Brown who only wants to mention exit velocity, spin rotation, percentages, etc. I suppose this is a reflection of the " new direction" of the Orioles toward analytics... Zzzzz
@Matt-hl5vm

New direction…you mean cheapskate.
@pepawg2281
Жыл бұрын
Well, Gary was actually a MASN employee and the ballclub wants the broadcasters to reflect their direction that they've chosen, which is the analytical mindset. Kevin Brown reflects the emphasis they've put on those aspects of the game.
And, as all things are with the Orioles, they wasted him. Just like they waste the careers of almost everyone who plays for them. Hell Ripken played 21 seasons and played in ONE world series. But the future is bright, right guys?
