I feel sorry for the airline personnel. They have to take the brunt of the bullshit coming from passengers. Those employees have rules and policies they need to follow!!

And then the passengers have the nerve to blame the agents for missing they're flights because they didn't plan ahead or leave early to get to the airport and then of course TSA can also play a role in late arrival at the gate. I know sometimes the airlines don't plan things correctly which can cause frustration and problems but when all is going smooth such as weather and operations as a passenger you should just be big enough to admit you were wrong and didn't plan well and now have to make up for it

It is a hard job to work and you need a lot of patience and be able to know how to talk to people even if they don't listen. All we can do is what we can and we really do try to get everyone where they need to be. I sometimes spend a whole hour with one customer trying to find something for them. But in the end of the day if I can help them and I just get there thanks it makes it all better. I wouldn't trade my job for anything else. 💛💙♥️

I fly out of Dallas love ❤️ field and never had a problem, it’s a budget airline and you get what you get.

Now I know why my father died shortly after 33 years in the airline industry. The entire industry relies on some of the most miserable customers and corporate decisions ever seen.

your dad died right after retirement because he had nothing else in his life except work. i worked in the airline industry too it's an outstanding industry and the legacy carriers in north america take very good care of their own, but there were a fair amount of miserable, negative people like any other job who died right after retirement.

I guess that wedding he wanted to attend was my important than the birth of that someone's child. That was handled really badly.....offer more compensation someone will get off.

I feel for people with allergic reactions but this dude did the absolute minimum to prevent the problem. What HE should have done was make sure the flight attendants knew of the problem. I mean seriously, all he did was request an allergy notification when he made his reservation. He didn't DOUBLE CHECK that such notification was done when he boarded. He didn't DOUBLE CHECK after getting to his seat. He did absolutely nothing beyond the minimum effort to prevent this problem. Well guess what Skippy? These are flight attendants. They're not bleeping mind readers. You're the one with the condition. You're the one who needs special accommodations. You're the one whose health and very life could be in danger. That all by itself should be motivation enough to MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE that appropriate protocols were put in place to prevent an allergic reaction. That this Karen didn't take those additional precautionary steps is his fault, not the airline's.

"Thanks to Gina", unless I'm missing something, looks like a passenger who had already been through the wringer and got a seat, had that seat taken from him or her, invoking some weak, obscure rule, on the behalf of a whiner, so the guy had to drive. Thanks, Gina.

Everyone is already there.

Hats off to the airline agents who work under severe stress and take customer abuse, but are still professional to these abusive customers.

I also have allergies. He should have let additional people know that his allergies are that serious. He was getting into a closed environment.

Peanut guy is a straight-up jerk. The universe has to change because of his entitlement.

If he was really that concerned he should've send something to the gate agent or flight attendant before boarding.

It is really stupid that there are not a few seats that are able to be available for someone like the guy that is allergic, however communication is EVERYONE'S RESPONSIBILITY, so the kid should have said it to the flight attendants as he boarded. It should not be assumed that they know. And say something to those who are around you, before they are served anything. It is the kid who needs to stop assuming anything. But there should be some way to accodate some special needs. The tall guy should have somewhere for his legs to be able to fit in his seat. There should also be seats for heavier people. And not have to pay through the nose for it.

Sounds like he told as many people as possible. Peanut allergy is not uncommon and can become very serious. They should offer him a full refund.

Usually they serve something else to everyonem I didn't hear 5 seats no one cna have them. I always was told noone will have them on the plane that way someone don't come up close to the person who is allergic to them an maybe touch them by accident.

there's no "rule"today, with more and more people in north america alone getting nut allergies, the airline will simply ask passengers to refrain from eating peanuts. and 999/1000 times people cooperate with it because someone being safe outweighs somebody's constitutional right to eat whatever they want on board a sealed metal tube, and nobody on the plane wants to make someone sick to the point that the flight has to divert because that person with a serious allergy have 60 minutes to live. airlines today also do not serve peanuts, in economy it's some pretzel/wheat/soy snack, and in business class the warm nuts are cashews almonds macadamia etc. more of courtesy/policy/foresight than regulation/rules.

I certainly understand people getting upset when things go badly with air travel and they may even have legitimate gripes as the airlines are far from perfect but saying "I'm never flying XXX airline again" has to be one of the dumbest things people can say. Not only do all the employees hear it 1000 times a day so it doesn't faze them, good luck with that, at least for domestic flights. Four airlines now control 80% of the domestic traffic and on many routes you either have no choice or only two choices. It sucks, wish something could be done about it, but that's reality. Airlines now have us in their clutches if we want to fly domestically on most routes and all we can do is bend over, take what they give us and hope for the best while preparing for the worst.
