I love how Gary takes full responsibility. GP is known for his trash talks and I'm sure he still has the dog in him but he is mature enough to acknowledge that he was wrong on his part as well. This is growth, not I'm from the streets and I'm an OG forever bullshit.

@Alex A I'm talking about Gary's reaction to his words in retrospect, not when it happened. You could tell he knows he was in the wrongs and he takes the responsibility to say it was his fault and he took it too far. Don't get me twisted.

@Alex A An OG Boss also has the power to say a word and get it done. Whether Black, Italian MOB, Russian MOB, bosses don't get their hands dirty. I have no doubt that GP at that time, fresh from Oakland had Oakland killers wit him. GP feeding those guys, that's their job not his

He didn't have this retaliatory energy with Xavier McDaniels when they were teammates. I would love to hear him elaborate more about his wild altercation with Vernon Maxwell when they were teammates. Xavier, Vernon and Payton are equally the Tri GOATs the Mount Rushmore of hot-headed and volatile players in NBA history 🤣🤣

@@jonnykilroy9762 Actually they were teammates Paytons rookie season. But the Sonics were starting to look to the future with Kemp so they decided to make Xavier McDaniels expendable and find another team. But Payton has mentioned as a rookie that Xavier ordered him to carry his luggage on road trips and pour his coffee. . During a practice Payton was talking a lot of trash and Xavier warned him not to continue or else he'd face the consequences. Payton decided to continue and suddenly Xavier grabbed him and almost choked him unconscious!!. He isn't even upset in retrospect. He said: "I needed that" 🤣🤣 This story came from Payton himself. Crazy to think at different points in his career he had Xavier and Mad Max as a teammate.

@@Peakfreud I remember when Xavier got into that fight with Oakley in MSG that spilled into the crowd. Then after getting ejected he demanded Oakley meet him in the tunnel afterwards for round two and had to be restrained by teammates 😆 He probably should've been a Knick a lot sooner in his career. He fit in perfectly that one season in terms of the type of identity they were try to be under Pat Riley.
