At the beginning Mourinho was doing OK because he had Zlatan to drive the team forward. But when Zlatan got badly injured United started playing the most negative boring counter attack football which no real United fan wants to watch. Then Mourinho started throwing the players under the bus saying the bad results had nothing to do with him - how can that be "absolute elite management"? You're obviously a deluded Mourinho fanboy and Neville is right when he says Mourinho was ultimately a failure United should never had signed. However, Woodward and the Glazers have been the biggest failures of them all also recruiting Mourinho. They had the biggest negative impact on United's downfall by far - not the managers.

Moyes was never gonna succeed Ferguson. Every situation is different. Ten hag has to go solely on the basis of how he managed the squad.

Players haven’t changed at all like Gary said there’s players that have been here longer than a manager has, and when a new manager comes in there’s still no change. Clear out players first, bring in young hungry players that are willing to give everything not only for the manager but for the badge and the fans that go and support them.

I agree with Gary, I think at this moment in time the one thing United need is stability. They need to get to a situation whereby they can recalibrate the foundations of the club, because what’s going on at the moment is not right, it’s not. It’s why, for the last 18 months I’ve been calling for an independent regulator to come into English football and sort it out, because at this moment in time Martin it’s broken, Manchester United football club is broken.

Most injuries in defensive and midfield positions? The issue has actually been less the shots on goal (by the way, you don't go up or down the table based on that stat, it is shots that go in and as shots on target alone shows, there's been a big difference between shots against and shots on target) and the lack of goals in attack. And there is your problem - you cite Derby with 11 points but United have 5 times that. Your stat is meaningless. Why not cite number of progressive passes or any other stat in isolation?

That damn saying started after they retired and became pundits. Nobody in the world was criticizing them when they had bad games and bad losses with "this is Manchester United", they are the ones that made it a thing and it is holding the whole club back

I am under no illusions that the amount of injuries has been a mitigating factor this year, but for me the catalyst was the De Gea fiasco. I still believe had we kept him, we would not be in this position. Their is no doubt in my mind he would have gave us more wins or draws. Behind the scenes, Ten Hag lost the team at that moment.

Ten Hag is doing as best as he can in the given circumstances, expecting him to perform miracles with the most injuries in our history is ludicrous

A massive problem for Liverpool after 1990 was extremely successful ex players dipping their oar in constantly in the media. The same is happening now to Utd. Neville was a fine player but him and other ex players seem to be constantly in the spotlight swaying opinion, much of it completely against common sense.

Only Gareth Southgate can save them.

It's the same story with Tottenham, with Chelsea, with Arsenal until recently... scapegoating a manager or 1 or 2 players in a team of 11 is insanity.

What about your club?

Man Utd are the biggest club in England and they will get it right but it’s going to take time because there has to be a huge clear out of the playing staff. Regardless ETH will be sacked. This season has been totally unacceptable.

Clearly you don't know how football works. Martinez,Shaw,Mount have been mostly injured for big parts of the season. Malacia has been injured the entire season, this means we only had 1 lef back for the rest of the season, with Shaw out, it's 0 Varane and Martinez are by far the best CB's with Martinez out Varane has to play with Maguire/Lindeloff. At this point ALL THE CB's are injured and no LB so you defense exist out of C,D,E options. Even Liverpool who only missed 2 CB's last season struggled to finish 5th and this is with a team he had coached on molded for years. If Liverpools entire back 4 was out they wouldn't have made Europa this season.
